Corrie's Frank Foster murder prime suspect revealed?

Sally Webster will be the prime suspect for Frank Foster's murder on Coronation Street, it has been claimed.

A report in the Daily Star suggests that the evil Underworld boss - played by Andrew Lancel - threatens to rape Sally after admitting to her that he did attack Carla Connor (Alison King). Viewers of the ITV1 soap have just seen Frank acquitted of Carla's rape by a trial jury.

"Does Sally have what it takes to kill? Only time will tell," a production insider told the publication.

Sally (Sally Dynevor) will apparently discover that her lover intends to double-cross Carla, with Frank warning her: "If you know what's good for you you'll keep your mouth shut, because the last woman who crossed me certainly lived to regret it. Maybe you want some of the same."

Sally will apparently be found standing over Frank's body in scenes to air later this year.

Dynevor has previously hinted that she thinks her character's estranged husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell) could kill Frank, saying: "If Frank hurt Sally in any way, I wouldn't like to guess what Kevin would do to him - I think he might even be capable of murder."

Coronation Street bosses confirmed Frank's murder after the trial verdict aired last Friday (February 3), promising that multiple suspects will have a motive for killing him.

This is the scene I'm really looking forward to watching.

He's a great actor, I reckon it will be gripping stuff, would like to see him nominated for a soap award or two this year. :)

I could see Sally doing it under those circumstances, but she's too obvious

Visage 08-02-2012 11:39 AM

Yeah, I think it's too obvious to be Sally. Plus I don't think she would be capable of murder. Of course this depends on how he is murdered.

I'd like to see him get some award/recognition for the role he's been playing too Kate.

Ohhhhhhh, looking forward to this storyline, can't wait to see Frank get his comeuppance!

I still think (with my female intuition :D) that his mum will "do it", but it would make for excellent drama if Sally did it in self defence and had to go through a trial, would be great viewing, Sally Dynevor is a belting actress, she did a great job with her touching cancer storyline and this could be awesome.

I reckon it's going to be his mother. Because surely the murderer couldn't stay that much longer in the show afterwards. Their days will be numbered, so unless Peter or Carla are leaving at some point in the next year or so I think it'll be his mother. When she discovers what he's done and how he caused his father to have a heart attack.

But, got to say, I hate Andrew Lancel's acting. I find stillness, and the way he acts a scary and intimidating thing but with him it comes across as very wooden. He was the same in The Bill when he was meant to be a "good guy", his monotonous voice grates on my nerves.

As for Sally going through a trial, I really hope not. Between Tracy, Gail, Fiz and now Carla I think Corrie have worn the courtroom out over the last 18 months. Everyone's a criminal nowadays. lol

But Sally is a good actress, she's great in this storyline, even just her facial expressions. Really making Sally unlikeable but I can't wait for when she finds out the truth.

Tracy is still there living free.

But I do think it will be a little silly if we had another murderer get away with it on the street.

Interesting and I do think that Andrew Lancel has played his role as Frank well.

DS had a good imaginative theory with Frank getting in a struggle with Carla and both Maria/Michelle come to her rescue and then one of them clobbers him, aftermath of course will be them coming to terms with what has happened and trying to prevent anyone from finding out the truth...

I'd actually prefer that to Frank's mother killing him, they could keep the secret hidden between the Connor family

Isn't that very similar to how Den was killed in Eastenders, involving 3 women, Chrissie, Sam and Zoe ?

Yeah but the storyline is different and Den, although a better character is not as vile as what Frank is IMO.

No I get that, I was meaning having three women involved in the murder.

While it is a good idea, it's very much like Den's murder.

I think it's more like Carl killing Tom King and Jimmy covering Carl's track.

I must be missing a point here and I can't figure out what though:laugh:

Didn't Carl kill Tom on his own ?

The suggestion, as I understood it with Frank's killer is three women Carla, Michelle and Maria are all on the scene, one clobbers him, he dies and they then have to come to terms with the aftermath.

Didn't Den die by getting clobbered and Zoe thought it was her that did it, only Sam saw it was Chrissie, and they all (originally) tried to cover it up?

bbfan1991 08-02-2012 11:56 PM

Yeah Zoe cloberred Den, while she then went to turn the lights off upstairs Chrissie went up to Den and he woke up then grabbed her by the legs which is when Sam saw Chrissie kill him.

Sam was then shocked as Chrissie made Zoe think that she killed him and eventually Chrissie ended up trying to frame them both to save her own skin, but the truth as we know finally came out

Carl killed Tom, Jimmy found out soon after and helped Carl, who was falling apart to cover it all up, even from Matthew.

bbfan1991 08-02-2012 11:58 PM

I would love for Chas to find out that Carl killed his own father out of love for her, obviously they do not get on well now but they had the perfect opportunity during the Eve storyline and did not do it...
