Is there anything worse than being single on valentines day? :bawling: having to look at all the romantic messages on fb... whats the cure for the valentine blues?

Vodka and chocolate

Chocolate and horror films.

I will be indulging in both alcohol and chocolate tomorrow night, so I probably won't give a damn by mid evening :D

My mum died on valentines day, so yes I think there is worse things than being single on that day.

I'm so sorry Josy :hug:...it is just a date on the calander, like any other but it must feel worse for you that it's a celebrated date...that sucks.

I feel a bit bad now for posting that, I don't mind at all that other people celebrate valentines day I just think that being single on feb 14th is nothing compared to other kind of things that can happen.

Another way of conning the gullibile masses into spending money. Society dictating how we should feel on a certain day :bored: It's as bad as Christmas :nono:

..no it's not and you've just reminded me of other sad things involving members on here..Kerry included..life does go on and things will be celebrated and so they should be...but it's good to stop and think of other more important things too..it's good that you mentioned it

If anything happened to me on Xmas day (for example) then it would ruin that day for the rest of my life, it would never be the same so I know what you mean Josy.

The whole day is a sham anyway :hmph:

Yes, it's dreadful to lose someone no matter what the time of year, but it does seem more poignant when it happens on a "big day". My dad died on Christmas eve, in the early hours, so I am not too fond of Christmas now.

Valentine's is a farce, as Joe says, it's far too commercial, even M&S have an advertising campaign built around it atm, with meals, wine and chocs for £20.

I can order a pizza, and go to tesco's for choccies and wine, and not spend that!!! :joker:

I'm single and I'm honestly so happy to be single, valentines day does not bother me. The thought of being stuck in a relationship at the moment is the furthest thing on my mind, I have so much else to do and achieve before I settle down. :hugesmile:
