Woman lives on pizza only diet for 31 years

A woman from Notting Hill, London has claimed to have eaten only pizza for more than three decades.

Claire Simmons, 33, reportedly has selective eating disorder - likely to have developed from an unwillingness to try new foods - and as a result hasn't consumed anything else other than cheese and tomato pizza since the age of 2.

She told The Sun that she gags if any other food is in her mouth.

Simmons stated: "I keep myself healthy with exercise and drink a lot of water.

"But my GP says I'm storing up many problems for the future due to a lack of vitamins and minerals."

Simmons, who shared her story with the tabloid newspaper after reading about the teenager who lives on a diet of chicken nuggets, adds that she too has been warned about the risks of continuing with her diet.

She also defended herself despite not eating any fruit or vegetables, saying that she's "scared" of them.

"I get so angry when people think I'm being faddy," she commented. "This is a real medical condition."
Appalling. We're seeing quite a few of these horrible diet news stories lately, it's a bit alarming. The parents should be ashamed of themselves for letting her eat that from the age of 2.

I bet if she was starving she'd eat fruit, the lying bitch.

I actually thought of you when I read the thread title

I dont get how people can even do this, how boring would it be eating the exact same thing every single day?

Ninastar 14-02-2012 10:08 PM

My mates GF has a similar problem, she's petrified to try new food and she is seeking professional help for it. It's so strange to be because I love food so much! But it must be horrible being scared of something that you HAVE to do every day to live.

Maybe she orders from pizza hut one night, then dominos the next, and throws a cheeky chicago town in to mix it up. Sounds pretty rock n roll to me.

Her parents should be ashamed of themselves, this is ALL because of them.

If she's been eating it since she was 2, this means her parents willingly have been giving her pizza for every meal since that age, how disgusting.

Jords 14-02-2012 11:24 PM

2!? Thats her parents fault :bored:

nicole_burks 14-02-2012 11:32 PM

How can you seriously eat something everyday.

It doesn't get old? :bored:

Kizzy 14-02-2012 11:33 PM

Its going to be more common in the next few years...i see kids who have a greggs sausage roll for dinner and one for tea...pizza is a luxury compared to that.

*wonders if McDonald's and Pizza Hut are sponsoring these women for their news stories

My friend hates food with sauces. She eats plain pasta most of the time. D;

Novo 15-02-2012 03:51 PM

Well she's lived for 33 years and counting so it can't be that bad

Jordan. 15-02-2012 03:57 PM

She isn't 'scared' of her tomato topping though that lying bitch

Although she was technically considered a middle-aged woman at the age of 18. ;)

What does an aardvaark like on it's pizza toppings...
.....ant-chovies
...boom boom

I've just realised this is in the serious debates, so I'll add something constructive.....

I would have thought if she was scared of foods, she could be hypnotised to help her
