Helen in Asda Magazine
Susieq posted this interview up on TalkBB yesterday, and she says she'd love it to be seen on here too. :spin2: Thanks Susie.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meet Helen Adams, dancing diva and bubbly Welsh blonde from Big Brother. Why have you decided to make a fitness video? I've always loved dancing and sometimes a good dance is just what you need instead of plodding away to keep fit. The music is really good too - it's got Robbie, Kylie and Cher - real dance stuff. And you can work at your own pace! Why did you want to be a contestant on Big Brother? I was watching a programme about the original housemates and something came up about people who wanted to be on the next one. My friend Paul Waite got an application form for me. How did you feel when you got on the show? I thought, what am I going to wear? I bought everything new to go into the house - my mum even said I had to get new underwear. It was like going on holiday! Was there anyone you didn't like? No. I got on with everyone. Me and Narinder had a personality clash, that's all. Maybe we were too alike, too loud! What was the best thing about Big Brother? Meeting Mr Clarke, of course! And the worst? No chocolate, no visits to the chippy and no luxuries. Plus, no privacy! What was your life like in Wales? I began work in the hairdressers at 8.45am and finished at 5pm. My mum would pick me up and I would get changed in the car and teach dance from 5.30pm til 10pm! I did that six days a week! What's it like presenting the Lorraine show on Sky One? I wouldn't really call it presenting! I chat to Lorraine (Kelly) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I also have a few projects in the pipeline, so watch out! Does being labelled a dizzy blonde annoy you? There are all kinds of blondes - you have Marilyn Monroe, the stereotypical blonde bombshell, but then you have Helen Mirren who is a brilliant actress. I'm not that bothered, but it is annoying because believe me I can be sensible when I want to be. What's in the future for you and Mr Paul Clarke? I just take each day as it comes. I'm not ready for marriage and babies, but I can't imagine being with anyone except Paul! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think that's a lovely interview she still sounds so happy. :hello::hello::hello::hello: |
how brilliant i havent read that 1 b4! Thax:spin2:

I wonder what the 'few projects in the pipeline' are. Sounds promising. :spin2:

I'd heard that Helen's contract on Lorraine was up in February, so I'm delighted that we still should be seeing her on tv, she's a breath of fresh air!

It is a lovely interview, and I'm pleased to hear that Helen has 'a few projects in the pipeline'. Should mean that we'll see her on our TV screens for some time to come, even if her contract with Lorraine is not extended - which it may be - we don't know that yet.
Incidentally, I note that Helen's response to the question about her future with Paul is the same as the one Paul gave during the 'Rich & Famous' interview, when marriage and babies were mentioned i.e. 'We're just taking each day as it comes'. Don't give anything away, Helen (except to Heat, of course!!). :colour: |
Quite right! I'm sure the day will come eventually, but until then I think prying questions will be brushed off with similar diplomacy. I don't suppose we'll ever get "well, we did chat about it last night and we think we would like to get married soon, but not yet. We decided to talk about it again in a couple of months". :bouncy::bouncy:
I love the fact Helen describes her job with Lorraine as just chatting to her three days a week. It sounds like some kind of counselling, although I bet Lorraine would be great at that. I think she answered the questions really well, especially the dizzy blonde one. She must have been getting pretty good at interviews by then. It's interesting that brief interviews in a store magazine are much better than anything we get in the newspapers. I'm only sad there are no Asda's near where I live or work. I wonder if she did one for Tesco? |
