King Gizzard 22-02-2012 02:19 PM

Good

Although I have mastered the art of chugger dodging

They should make it an olympic sport tbh

Scarlett. 22-02-2012 02:23 PM

Good riddance, they do more damage to charities than good

arista 22-02-2012 02:28 PM

Chuggers are Scum

Vicky. 22-02-2012 02:28 PM

Good. Its getting quite ridiculous now.

Was out in Newcastle a few weeks back and had to go between monument mettro station, to haymarket...and my god. I must have been stopped about 10 times in total. Those who live in/have been to newcastle will know the distance is very short.

In the end, I told one of the people who stopped me that I had already donated (it was something for snow leopards...you had to send a text which would cost you a quid) and the cheeky bastard said 'well surely you can spare another £1?' while eyeing up my bags :bored:

Kizzy 22-02-2012 02:28 PM

They are a nuisance, i donate to charity as and when i want to, i dont want to be chugged.

Shaun 22-02-2012 02:30 PM

Yes they are Down Right Rude

Sadly in that area they are still there Tuesdays and Thursdays.

[The collectors, dubbed 'charity muggers'
or 'chuggers' because of their aggressive tactics
have been banned from Burnley, Lancashire, on all other days. ]

They're really annoying. You get some pink haired girl jump out at you pretending to be your best friend or something, then they literally follow you to stop you going. It doesn't help that they're usually hot, but that's why they use them I guess. I just say "no chuggers" staight off now and they get the message. I once made the mistake of giving them my number, and then they ring you and go for the real hard sell. They are awful.

Scarlett. 22-02-2012 04:47 PM

One asked me for my card details once - WTF.

King Gizzard 22-02-2012 05:17 PM

One of them last year kept telling me I was lying when I said I was 20 (you have to be 21 to give money or something) when I was actually 20, I wanted to kick him in the face
