What Social Situations Make You the Most Flustered and Nervous,,

...and why?

Niamh. 22-02-2012 03:55 PM

emmm, not a fan of having to make a speech or anything that involves being the centre of attention, not sure why, I've just never been comfortable with that sort of thing.

MTVN 22-02-2012 03:57 PM

Hate it when you're meant to be meeting someone at the pub or something and you turn up before they're there and you just have to stand around awkwardly waiting on your own, normally just pretend I'm texting

Anything that involves lots of strangers.. I detest going on training courses with my work and not knowing anybody, then having to have lunch etc with them.

I hate eating in front of strangers too

Me too, and team building exercises / roleplay stuff to do with work, they just make me feel all cringy

Samuel. 22-02-2012 04:03 PM

Phone calls, for some reason.

Marsh. 22-02-2012 04:05 PM

I hate doing presentations at college, even the small 5 minute ones seem to last forever and my voice gets shaky. It took me a while to get used to the phone at work, I was fine answering it and talking to someone but when I had to make one myself I got really nervous for some strange reason.
But I do hate being the centre of attention. For example, going out for a meal with the whole family on my birthday and they all spend ages focusing on you and questioning. Hate it.

Me too... god I detest roleplaying exercises in front of a room full of people!

I hate it when you're walking with someone in town and they see someone they know, awkwardly introduce you, then leave you standing there like a lemon while they gas away.

CharlieO 22-02-2012 04:08 PM

Meeting new people or seeing someone you know out on a weekend and you don't know whether to smile or hide.

MTVN 22-02-2012 04:17 PM

Being told you can take someone's daughters virginity is always a bit awkward as well

Eh??

Niall 22-02-2012 04:38 PM

Presentations or speaking in front of a group of people. I will do anything to avoid it omfg.

Angus 22-02-2012 04:44 PM

I have no problem speaking in front of large groups of people, (did it for years in my job as a resort rep and travel courier), but leave me alone with a person with whom I have nothing whatever in common, and I am a gibbering wreck:shocked:

SharkAttack 22-02-2012 04:54 PM

Normally I don't usually meet people, unless I already know them. ;) Anything involving the cell phone, as it breaks up frequently and leaves awkward pauses or running over the other person conversationally, speeches, waiting alone for someone in a residential area as others appear to think I'm casing the joint or something. http://i395.photobucket.com/albums/p...tial/laugh.gif

Doogle 22-02-2012 04:56 PM

Can't think of anything tbh :joker:

Josy 22-02-2012 04:58 PM

I don't like the team/role playing kind of things.

Kizzy 22-02-2012 05:02 PM

Teambuilding deffo...having to be over familiar with strangers...its just not me. And Huggers, you know those people who insist on hugging...just gerroff!!!

Black Dagger 22-02-2012 05:06 PM

Phone Calls.

I very rarely pick up the phone when it rings, unless I know it's a family member, if the home phone rings I get somebody else to answer...

King Gizzard 22-02-2012 05:18 PM

All of them..prefer being a hermit

and agreed with lucas I hate phone calls..

having to ask for stuff in general really. When I can I do stuff over the internet...which is about 95% of stuff
