How much did YOU spend voting on BB3?

From today's Sunday People online:

BIG Brother fanatic Kelly Watson had a massive bust-up with her boyfriend after running up a £170 bill on his mobile phone by voting on the show.

Kelly, 25, sent more than 500 texts to vote for fireman Jonny.

Angry boyfriend Christopher Smith, 27, of Newcastle, said: "I knew she was a Big Brother fan but this is ridiculous."

Kelly said: "I just got carried away."

 :nono:  :nono:  :nono:

And after all that, he didn't win!!!

Did anyone on this forum get 'carried away' and put in multiple votes to evict any housemates, or vote for who should win?

I have to say I only put in one vote each time this year. :colour:  :colour:

bonzobravo 25-08-2002 11:23 AM

I only voted when Spencer was up against Alex. I voted 5 or 6 times for Alex to go.

I also voted for Jade to win, but I only voted once.

Amy 25-08-2002 11:31 AM

Well i spent about £10 on calls, last year it was over £80 :wavey:

BigSister 25-08-2002 12:04 PM

OK, you can all have a good laugh ! I can stand it.I built up a massive phone bill of :

£1.00

25p for Kate to win - money well spent. The rest at the beginning. I had meant to vote to keep Alison in but dialled the
WRONG NUMBER
so................I had to use another 25p to cancel it out and then 25p for another vote again to try to keep her in. All a total waste of money as she was evicted anyway.

Mine was a massive £1.25 and I thought that was to much.

:spin:

I can't believe anyone could spend as much as £170 on calls.

I voted every week of the show. That was enough for me!! :spin2:

bananarama 27-08-2002 08:01 PM

I must admit that in my mind I decided who to vote for but due to lack of passion for most of them I then chickened out. I think I voted about half a dozen times. Still waiting for the phone bill.

Last year I voted a lot more and when I got my telephone bill I nearly complained to BT about all those calls to a number I didn't recognise. As I had not actually used the phone I had forgotten that Digi box voting were the same as telephone calls.

Even on BB2 I only spent about a tenner. Most of that was on H/P. :bouncy:

susieq 27-08-2002 10:24 PM

I spent 75p voting for Spencer against Alex and £1.00 for Kate to win. The rest of the time I couldn't be bothered!

blinkinlovely 27-08-2002 10:48 PM

Confession time!

Compared to last year, I must admit, I hardly spent anything at all on this year's BB.
That said, for BB2 I had no internet access or PC and became all too reliant on the live phone feed (mostly to hear Elizabeth having a go at either H or P)

bill for last year - well still suffering
Bill for this yea? - no more than £2

Janette 27-08-2002 10:50 PM

I actually spent very little this year, I voted the first week but the result really annoyed me!

I probably only voted about half a dozen times in total, about a tenth of last year!

splodge0 28-08-2002 10:40 PM

I didn't spend much, especially since my sub to the live streaming wouldn't work properly. It usually does, just not on BB!! Grrrrrrrrr

Last year I spent loads. I voted every week, often several times and in the final week I have no idea how many times I voted for Helen to win, but it was lots.

This year I voted to evict Jade a couple of times in the first week and that was about it. I didn't feel strongly enough about any of them to bother.

Another thing of course was that the previous two years there was a charity aspect to the whole show, and so I felt I was contributing. This year I felt we were all lining Channel 4's pockets. I don't consider Ch4 a charity, added to which they specifically said they couldn't afford to donate this year.......... Yeah, right!!!! :colour:

Quite agree I was really annoyed to hear that no money was going to charity. Last year I spent more that I care to think about, but this year I think the total was about £1.50 - a couple of times for Jade to be evicted the first week, a couple of times for Spencer against Alex and a couple of times to get rid of Adele. That was it.

Maggie 29-08-2002 08:44 PM

About fiver at the most, the first week and the final, the rest of the time I was'nt bother who got evicted, sad :bawling: really as last year I was so caught up with it :hello:

I did'nt mind when Brian won even though I vote for Helen at least 10 times, he was such an entertainer. :joker:

Oldgit 29-08-2002 09:00 PM

Mrs Oldgit and I casted one vote each every week, two in all, but unless we agreed we didn't bother. (Actually we always agreed so it didn't matter).

We double voted Alex and Sandy to try to keep Alison in.

We double voted Jonny and Kate on the last week, and had planned to cast another two votes each for the one remaining of them when the other went, but there was no need!

Let's see I make that:

Wk 1: 50p Lynne
Wk 2: £1.00 Sandy & Alex
Wk 3: 50p Lee
Wk 4: 50p Alex
Wk 5: 50p Sophie
Wk 6: 50p Adele
Wk 7: 50p PJ
Wk 8: 50p Alex
Wk 9: £1.00 Jonny & Kate

That makes £5.50.

Nothing like £170

Then we are sensible grown ups!

Confession:

Forgive me, I have sinned.

I have never voted in a Big Brother eviction!

I enjoyed last year’s too much to vote anyone out and wasn’t bothered enough with this year’s crowd to vote.

Also I don’t get too involved in who I want to see win and try not to dislike anyone simply because they have appeared in one of my favourite TV show.

The difference in votes, at evictions, between housemates, usually runs into hundreds of thousands. One vote ain't going to make much difference. I do vote in elections though, before you ask.

Not too keen on lining Channel 4’s pockets.

I know, I know – hypocrite.

Feel free to ignore any opinion I give about any housemate in the future.

bonzobravo 30-08-2002 12:05 AM

I vote in big brother SOMETIMES, but don't vote in general elections because for me that is my way of voting. I will vote when politics is less corrupt and when a party represents my views. Ok, not in my lifetime.

lyndy 30-08-2002 12:57 AM

i spent about £3:50 this year far less than last year when i spent loads lol but no -where near £170
