Yep I think  When you look at a word for a long time it suddenly looks really weird like it isn't actually a word

I got this with the word freak a while ago. I kept typing it to my friend and then began to question if I was spelling it right, and then if it was even a word at all. I should never do psychedelic drugs.

I know what you mean, when you look at a word for a long time it looks weird. It happened to me with the word 'Yes' once, :suspect: it's so weird... Y's are weird.

King Gizzard 28-02-2012 08:18 PM

maybe i'm just weird but do you ever take family members for granted and never actually take them in, like '' you're my mum, wow''

no? okay just me

Marc 28-02-2012 08:21 PM

wat

And yep the word meaning thing has happened to me.

Doogle 28-02-2012 09:00 PM

All the time, happened with my friend's name "Ricky". On a presentation I typed "Rick" and I changed it to "Ricky" and started telling myself Ricky isn't a name and it's not spelt like that.

Josy 28-02-2012 09:05 PM

Happens to me with the word fork

Niall 28-02-2012 09:24 PM

It happens to me all the time. :joker:

I just think of a word and I start wondering why that word came about and who thought it up. :joker:

I do that too, then I say the word so much to myself that it ends up not sounding right.

Bollo 28-02-2012 09:31 PM

the word 'rhythm' always looks wrong to me, probably cos it has no vowels

King Gizzard 28-02-2012 09:36 PM

I've never actually stopped for a minute and realised my name is Nathan, who I am etc, you just take it for granted

Doogle 28-02-2012 09:38 PM

Some days I look up at my Mum just sort of moving and think of the fact she's another living being just there. It makes me realise how weird humans are. Idk. This sounds odd.

Kate! 28-02-2012 09:50 PM

I find banana a rather odd word. It looks like gibberish. And pyjamas.

Callum 28-02-2012 09:53 PM

Yeah, I do this a lot.

Jordan. 28-02-2012 09:57 PM

Never, you're all reverting back to apes :idc:
