'We're going to crash'..flight attendant restrained after terrifying passengers

A flight attendant had to be restrained by passengers and crew on an American Airlines flight after she started ranting that the plane was going to crash over the PA system.

According to news.com.au, she told passengers on the flight from Dallas to Chicago: "We are not taking off. We're having technical difficulties. We are heading back to the gate."

First class travellers helped cabin crew subdue the woman after she started screaming things like, "I am not responsible for crashing this plane", talking about 9/11, and rambling about American Airlines' bankruptcy

According to the Daily Mail, it took five people to restrain the flight attendant, and one passenger described how she had to be "thrown into the first row of seats and held down", and that she sounded "demonic".

Passenger Greg Lozano (pictured) said: "We were pretty frightened. I was glad we weren't in the air."

The Dallas Observer reported that policemen removed the woman "kicking and screaming" from the plane after the incident

......apparently she forgot to take her medication

Why are you confused ammi? are you ill?

Callum 11-03-2012 12:50 PM

Poor woman, she obviously had a nervous breakdown and is in need of professional help. How sad though that the first thing most passengers thought to do was get out their mobiles and start filming it.

Kizzy 11-03-2012 12:52 PM

Sounds more like manic depression to me.

Oh lord, I shouldn't be reading this when I have to fly in a fortnight! It's bad enough worrying about the plane crashing without having to worry about the flight attendants being on medication in the first place, never minding forgetting to take any!

Tom4784 11-03-2012 02:40 PM

Well I hope she gets the help she needs, it sounds like she had quite the breakdown.

"thrown into the first row of seats and held down"

Just remember that you're safer in a plane than on the road really.

But if this was on my plane I wouldn't be able to get Final Destination out of my head.
