general views on dog walkers ?
 

dog walking company's in London parks

at first i loved,
i was going to do a happy email,
but on thinking,
i am going to condemn company's who walk the tail.
but it is a ingenious idea,
a real money spinner,
but with this poem publicity,
takings might be a bit thinner.
if i was to have a baby,
to put it up for adoption,
to then claim it back at 18,
giving it plenty of the love portion.
people would question,
the point of me having a child,
they would say i missed out on the best,
like walking a dog when its there only time to be free a wild.
you also have numbers,
dogs do form a pack,
you have to stay fully concentrated,
also being aware you must remove there cack.
dogs are beautiful,
walking them in parks is gold,
anyone who pays for this walking service,
will never have this idea to me sold.


( not sure about any of you lot - but i have seen a 10 fold increase in the number of firms that walk peoples dogs for them - i think its wrong because like i say in my poem - the mess - the pack mentality - and its quite scary seeing loads of dogs coming at you - dose anyone else feel this ? and its the same where ever i go in london - regents park - hampstead heath - richmond - hyde park all places - its getting more and more now )

Nothing wrong with dogs,it's some of the owners that are suspect.

If people work and they can afford one brill, its those who get a pooch and keep it cooped up all day while they are at work that annoy me :(

do you not feel it defeats the object - like i say - have a child and get it adopted and have it back when its older - they are missing out on the whole point of what a dog is for - well unless they use it for other reasons lol it might explain why my neighbour one howlsssss every night lol

Don't see the point if you can't walk it yourself. That is one of the main reasons to have a dog. Seems like a fashion accessary for some

i have 7 dogs which i walk myself but only 2 @ a time i spend all mornin walking my dogs i moan but i actually love it, good exercise and im out in the fresh air all day, thankfully i only work part time @ 4pm ish. if i did employ a dog walker id prob b freting about my dogs one doesnt like bikes/dogs/people etc one u have to feed when people walk past, one eats everything etc etc u get my drift.

I personally would not want anyone other than me or my parents and other family to walk our dog, I love taking him for walks.
I have him now with me while at Uni, but he is never alone through the day,there is always someone in the house with him but I am the only one at present who walks him.

As for picking up his stuff, I have no problem with that and always do.
As kazanne said,there is nothing wrong with dogs it's just the really bad owners some may have.

I LOVE taking my dog out for walks and seeing her interact with people (especially children) and other dogs.

I've walked her everyday since she was 16 weeks old and she's now 1 and wouldn't hurt a fly because she's so well socialized, made sure I walked her in busy areas where there were many people about so she could get used to them.

What I hate though is people getting wrongfully intimidated by her because she's quite large and basically looks like a huge Staffy (she's an Old Tyme Bulldog) so people assume 'dog with chain lead... strong... owner is young... wearing an Adidas hoodie... it'll bite' and they cross the road or something when we come towards them. Luckily though this is rare and most people are willing to make a fuss of her and realize she's adorable.

As for picking up her crap I've got this plastic scoop device that you fold the little bin bags around and pinch it shut so it seals the bag, really handy and less stressful for those (myself) who are squeamish ha.

You may have a point with some 'toy' breeds, its very sad.

I can relate to what you say as to people crossing aver to avoid coming near your dog, our dog is a staffie and I get that all the time.
Sometimes it really annoys me but I usually bite my tongue and keep quiet,it's hard to though when they keep glaring at you as they pass you on the other side of the road.

I had to laugh though the other week,he has a boomer ball which he loves to play with,when he does, he barks at it. On the field I take him to, he was playing with it and this guy came over and I had to fight not to laugh,:joker: he said, ''Oh your dog barks'' , I couldn't help myself, I just said ''yeh,he sure does and cats meeow and humans talk,amazing isn't it''.

I feel terrible as im an owner of a lab.. I freeze if a staff goes near him , i know i shouldn't but i can't help it :(

This is after being bit by several "harmless" 4-leggers out there at my local park when playing with the kiddies.

My staffie is really good in that way kizzy, he looks at other dogs but rarely interacts,he prefers human company. I have yet to see him even snarl at another dog.

The most he does is kick his back legs out when he sees another dog but his tail is always wagging so I have no worries that he may turn aggressive to other dogs.
Having said that Staffies like all dogs with the wrong owners can be very intimidating. The only dog I have ever been bitten by is a Jack Russell.:joker:

Keep your dogs on a leash, not everyone is a lover of dogs and some people are a bit frightened of them. And please for god sakes can you make it so they don't poopoo all over the streets. Thanks :D

good point - i would say every street in the new walking spot - so much dog cr-p everywhere.

Its a £1000 fine for not picking up after your dog, and if you are caught without poo bags while on walkies its an instant £85 fine here joe.

I pick up anything my dog does every time, I as a dog owner, hate it when people don't, he is also always on a lead and harnessed when out with me, only let off in open fields for small periods and never anywhere where children are.
Even when off the lead for a small period,to play with his ball he never goes more than about 2 to 3 metres from me.

At home,when I am home from Uni he has a very large garden to play in there and even now he's with me at Uni,the house I am in has a large garden too and he gets out there plenty too also and yes, I pick all his stuff up from there too.

Although I do really like them what often annoys me is cats, I am sick round where I am finding half eaten birds that cats have left and feathers strewn all over the place. I just wish the same rules applied to cat owners as they do to dog owners too.
It's another reason I keep my dog harnessed and on a lead,I don't want him sniffing anywhere near rotting bird carcases but I do agree, in all public areas, dogs should be on a lead and all what they do should be picked up from street or countryside.

it gets on my nerves when dogs r off in the local nature reserve especially when theres signs to say please keep dogs on leads. i also have one those plastic pooper scoopers there great

i don't mind dogs generally, it's just the little ones that bark really loudly that annoy me. what ever happened to muzzles???

That aside I agree with you. If you haven't got the time to take a dog for a walk then you probably shouldn't have a one. I take mine twice a day and most days I'm out of the house at least 12hrs a day.

Plus I take my dog to work with me sometimes.
