Engelbert Humperdinck - Love Will Set You Free (UK Eurovision 2012 entry)

Maia 19-03-2012 01:44 PM

Nice enough and all but too old-fashioned. Can't see it clicking with Europe.

Maia 19-03-2012 01:48 PM

Great voice though.

Shaun 19-03-2012 01:50 PM

I think this could finish midtable since it's lovely, but it won't stand out I don't think.

Livia 19-03-2012 01:54 PM

In comparison to some of the dreadful, archaic twaddle that Europe dish up it's a winner. There are some Eastern Bloc countries who are still digging those crazy Beach Boys. This is okay by Eurovision standards... It's even got a key change! And of course, the best thing about Englebert is... he isn't Jedward.

Me. I Am Salman 19-03-2012 03:52 PM

With a name like that he shall lose

Black Dagger 19-03-2012 03:58 PM

I could have seen this easily as a top 5 finish in the 80s heck even 90's, but I think he'll finish middle of the table, nice enough song.

Ammi 19-03-2012 04:00 PM

I don't like te be unpatriotic..but I'm going with the Russian Grannies

Ammi 19-03-2012 04:01 PM

..Englebert can be second

Locke. 19-03-2012 04:01 PM

Not as good as Blue last year

Marc 19-03-2012 04:03 PM

Definitely not winning.

bbfan1991 19-03-2012 04:04 PM

I actually hope Ireland finish above the UK again, not only for the funny and in some cases bitter responses but for the fact Eurovision is supposed to be a laugh if you take away countries block voting etc!:joker:

You can't vote for him anyway, so all is forgiven

I have a feeling and have had since it was announced that he was representing the UK, he is likely to do well,I can see him finishing in the top 5 with this one somehow. He will stand out for obvious reasons and that can help not hinder.
The song is nowhere near as good as Jedwards for Ireland but I can see both of them scoring very highly this time round.

It could be a very good contest indeed this year for both Ireland and the UK.

King Gizzard 19-03-2012 05:22 PM

Absolutely beautiful

King Gizzard 19-03-2012 05:24 PM

But seriously, I can see us doing well. Some will be like 'wtf is his name I'm deffinitely voting for that'' and then some countries will be fans of his

Shaun 20-03-2012 10:17 AM

He'll be performing first on the night. Not sure how I feel about that.

Z 20-03-2012 11:00 AM

I had hopes for an N-Trance cover

Z 20-03-2012 11:01 AM

This is lovely though, I hope we do well!

Maia 20-03-2012 01:01 PM

1st on the night?

That's it, we've lost then. Oh well.

Maia 20-03-2012 01:01 PM

Need to be around 20th on the night to do well really

Marc 20-03-2012 01:19 PM
