'EastEnders Omnibus' moves permanently to Friday nights

EastEnders' weekly omnibus has moved permanently to Friday nights, it has been confirmed.

The BBC has announced that the soap's two-hour catchup marathon will no longer air in its traditional Sunday afternoon slot.

In a statement on the EastEnders website, the corporation said: "The EastEnders omnibus has moved to a new late-night slot on Friday night/Saturday morning.

"It will no longer be on BBC One on Sunday. The next omnibus will be on Saturday [April] 14 at 0.05am-2am."

The EastEnders Omnibus was broadcast in the Friday night slot last week from 11.30pm, gaining 477k (7.2%) viewers in the overnights.

The Omnibus's last showing on a Sunday, on April 1, attracted 792k (9.1%) between 1pm and 3pm.

WTF!

Good. I think weekends should be soap free, and especially with On Demand, Catch Up, IPlayer and recording boxes there's really no use in omnibus's anymore IMO.

What will they show on Sundays

Extra long Songs of Praise. Or more repeats of something else. lol

So you can watch Friday's episode at 20.00 on BBC1, or 22.00 on BBC3, or as part of the omnibus at 00.05? And if you still miss it, catch it on the iplayer.

Oh FCS,Sunday just isn't Sunday without EE Omnibus,WHY on earth cant they put all this sport on selected channels God knows there are enough of them, instead of intruding into the family viewing or at least replace it with a decent movie or drama. That's it,rant over, marking dates and times in my journal, seriously this sort of thing spelt the end for Brookside as people kept missing it due to their constant time changes, and I still miss that soap ,was a real fave of mine.

Sunday's were made for Hollyoaks omnibuses :hmph:

But anyway yeah I don't see why they're changing when clearly they get higher ratings on the Sunday omnibus compared to the late night Friday omnibus as shown in the OP :conf:
