best zelda game?

i have only played 2 (twlight princess and ocarina of time which i havent even completed yet) and all over the internet i hear people saying twilight princess is the worst zelda game but i loved it so im thinking well if thats the worst the others must be sddglaeg :amazed:

Samuel. 12-04-2012 01:48 PM

I've only played OoT. Didn't think much of it.

Wind Waker, though, looks amazing. I even re-bought a Gamecube specifically to play it months ago. Still need to get around to it...

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 12-04-2012 01:52 PM

majoras mask looks amazing and its supposed to be one of the most depressing games ever

Marc 12-04-2012 02:16 PM

Majora's is alright, I haven't finished it though :joker: and the moon is scary.

You can't beat OoT, you just can't; there's a reason it was so popular

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 12-04-2012 02:18 PM

im playing ocarina of time now
Spoiler:

i just got the medallion from saria \m/

Ocarina of Time is incredibly overrated. At the time it might have been a huge achievement in gaming. But now? I really don't think it's anything more than an okay action adventure game.

Twilight Princess is the best Zelda game, OOT is just to hard imo.

Doogle 12-04-2012 09:33 PM

OoT is impossible without a walkthrough for me, I remember last Summer I was cut off in some cottage on holiday and my phone had 1 bar of signal which I used to load a text walkthrough to get me through Jabu Jabu's mother****ing belly. :bored: But it's one of the best games ever and I have fond memories of it in 2011, meaning whether you played it when it was first out or the latest remake it's a game you don't forget.

Also played the original 2 (the second is **** and the first is surprisingly fun), 4 Swords (meh), Minish Cap (quite overrated imo), Majora's Mask (beautiful game) and hope to play Twilight Princess soon. I'm not sure about Skyward Sword.

Twilight Princess. But the only other Zelda game I've played other than that is the first DS one (which was also amazing). But Midna was just awesome.

Tom4784 12-04-2012 10:26 PM

Ocarina of Time and A Link To The Past.

Novo 13-04-2012 04:09 AM

Probably Windwaker because of the map

I completed it the first time with a walkthrough, some temples are so difficult w/o it. Especially the water temple! With all the water changes etc.

Make sure you play Twilight Princess, I had to use the walkthrough for that too :joker: and Majora's I'm such a fail [/cuts self]

I've completely every single zelda game (that's 16 games). I'm a huge zelda fan. My favourite is ocarina of time, followed by skyward sword. The windwaker and Twilight princess are excellent games too, coming in at 3rd and 4th.

The worst? Most definitely "The Adventure Of Link"

Jamie89 12-08-2016 12:13 PM

I've completed Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask and they're probably my 2 favourite games of all time. Ocarina of Time especially, as highly rated as it is, it isn't overrated imo. I've just downloaded Twilight Princess and I might start it later :spin:

_Tom_ 12-08-2016 12:20 PM

I don't think I've ever completed a Zelda game oops :shame: but I've watched my brothers complete them!

Of the games I've played:

OOT > Windwaker > Skyward Sword > Phantom Hourglass > Spirit Tracks > Majoras Mask

I have Twilight Princess but never started it!

I hated MM, could never get into it because I hate time limits in games - I like having time to explore! And yeah...OOT is in no way overrated. It was a staple of my childhood

Yeah MM really splits opinion because of that, and I felt the same when I first played it, but after the intro part of the game and you get used to it and can manipulate the time etc, I found that I could explore as freely as I wanted to and the time thing is less a restriction, as it is just an added element to the story (and something that makes you think of time management which I really liked because it added more realism for me and I found myself loving it and finding it more exciting because of it). Because you can do all the exploring you want if you keep resetting time after the 3 days are up, and as long as you make sure that you reset the 3 day cycle again before starting a dungeon or a quest etc. then I found there were no issues with it (and one cycle was always more than enough to complete the dungeons with time slowed down). It's a different kind of element to have in a game though so I get why it's off-putting/takes getting used to, but I remember being surprised how quickly I went from hating the idea of the time thing to really loving it.

I couldn't get into Phantom Hourglass myself, and I haven't played the others, but I've heard great things about Windwaker, and Skyward Sword looks really good to me but I've heard mixed things about it.

Obviously OoT. It might not hold up to modern standards, but you really have to consider any game in it's appropriate context.

My best friend, though, who is a massive Zelda fan, swears by Windwaker. I couldn't get into it
