This. The new episodes seem to lack something the earlier ones had.

I think its because the new Simpsons are sticking to a formula, where as the old ones were stepping into uncharted territory

The Simpsons hasnt been right since 2003ish onwards, mainly due to some different writing staff. It was 2000 (I think) when things started changing, and with it so did the quality of the show.

season 3 till 10 was the best tv ever IMO
