When boiling Spaghetti...

How do I know how much to boil just for me? I always seem to make too much :conf:

Shaun 13-04-2012 12:10 AM

-always does this too-

Mrluvaluva 13-04-2012 12:10 AM

Ahh just throw it in. Better to have too much than too little.

King Gizzard 13-04-2012 12:11 AM

Normally do as much as what the sauce I'm doing it with says. About 200g

although that serves like 3 people but i eat it all anyway

Smithy 13-04-2012 12:12 AM

Put in less than you normally do

Boothy 13-04-2012 12:13 AM

Doesn't it double in size when you boil it? So half the amount you want to eat.

Bollo 13-04-2012 12:15 AM

If its a 500g pack, then roughly one fifth of the pack

Benjamin 13-04-2012 12:16 AM

a large handful.

InOne 13-04-2012 12:16 AM

I think I'll probably have to snap it in half too so will have to take that into account

Why would you snap it :nono:

CharlieO 13-04-2012 12:22 AM

Join your thumb and index finger, the spaghetti that can fit in that whole is just a little more than enough.

Its meant to do that! The longer it stays in there, the less rigid it gets. It sinks down the pan that way. There's no need to snap it.

It will do. My Mum lived in Italy for ages, so she taught me how to cook pasta well.

Doogle 13-04-2012 12:32 AM

Just do way too much, then you get more after :amazed:

Mrluvaluva 13-04-2012 12:35 AM

Have you made your own sauce?

Ninastar 13-04-2012 12:39 AM

InOne 13-04-2012 12:40 AM

King Gizzard 13-04-2012 12:41 AM
