UK Labour Party says No to F1 in Bahrain

Its Feck all to do with Poxy Ed Miliband.

"Britain's Labour leader, Ed Miliband, has urged the prime minister to add his voice to calls for the cancellation of the Bahrain Grand Prix."

Sure that nation has problems
but not the Car Racing.

I'll expect there must be oil in Bahrain, somewhere.

If there were than the West would be a lot more bothered than they are, this has been going on for a year and they've largely turned a blind eye, even allowing the Bahraini's to be invited to arms fairs and stuff

Scarlett. 20-04-2012 06:13 PM

I don't agree with this, I'm a fan of F1, but that country just isnt safe right now

As they all do
when in China.

I think it is a bit of opportunism on Ed Miliband's part, what annoys me about him is he always comes across sounding very patronising when he makes comments like this.
Really hard to relate to him at all, I find him a turn off in politics not someone who prompts you to listen.

As for this event, well if it really is safe in that area and they are there, they may as well see it through now.

Marc 20-04-2012 08:50 PM

If the place where they are racing is safe then why put it off?

Thats the official statement, but a team finished training early today, so that they could get away early.

Yeah they witnessed a molotov cocktail being thrown on Thursday. the team wanted to be indoors early tonight. they'll be racing though.

Thats the sort of stuff I'm talking about, they shouldnt be forced to race in a country with so much instability, officially the teams might agree with it, but I don't think anyone is comfortable with it. And lol :p

I agree but I think the way the media has handled this is terrible, nothing for the past year since last race was cancelled and then all of a sudden yesterday Sky jumped on a bandwagon....it's terrible....some sky news presenter actually called the circuit a race course earlier....
