Marc's moral dilemma
..ok Marc..this is a bit more challenging....
You and your friend are stranded on an island. Unfortunately, you are both fatally ill. It just so happens that you have an antibiotic that can cure your illness. Sadly enough, there is just enough antibiotic to save only one person. How could you and your friend choose which one of you will take the antibiotic? Do you think that either person who takes it will, or should, feel guilty for the other person dying, although if neither of you take it, you will both die? |
Can't they take half each, swim to civilisation and get some more.
(Or just send for Randy and Zac, they will put them on their backs and get them to a hospital in a flash) Sorry Ammi, in all seriousness... If my friend had children and I didn't, then I'd let her/him take the medicine. If it was the other way round I would want to be the one that takes it. |
I agree
it comes down to who has more responsibilities, as I have none and I'm pretty fearless I'd give it to them. |
Im echoing what others have said that whoever has more responsibilities but also who has more to offer should take the medicine. If there was a 5 age gap or more I think thatd play a part in the process, and perhaps whos career and love life has just begun instigating.
If 1 of us had a child under 16 theyd have to take it no question. |
How close is this "friend"? :suspect:
|
I don't know, I have kids and so have people who depend on me, If my friend had as well then I suppose we'd have to flip a coin or something. I would hate to be stranded on that Island with my dead friend as well though :/
|
I would take it tbh, but I wouldn't tell him about it, at least then he won't resent me for it
I'm a sh*t friend |
Take the antibiotics myself and wait for them to die. Then get the fire lit and the pot boiling.......

..thing is if you were stranded on a desert island..you might starve to death anyway..slowly...so it might be better to die quickly....
...I suppose you could eat your friend |

Best reply yet. |
In that scenario, I think I would offer it to my friend, maybe secretly hoping they would suggest I be the one to take it.
At least if they then did take it I would know I had been given the chance as well by my friend. I guess also, knowing the friends I have around me,that whichever one would be on the island with me, that we would spend so much time debating who would take it, we would likely both have died before a decision was actually made. |

When it comes to actual life or death survival, new instincts likely take over.On this one though with no foreseeable chance of rescue from the island and both being fatally ill, maybe better to die together than one be alone on it. |

They're both stranded on a desert island, so chances are both of them are gonna die anyway, so who cares?
share the antibiotic medicine, and both die in peace and friendship. You ain't gonna be rescued anyway. we could work out a schedule for who gives who oral sex to at least make it a bit better... mondays and wednesdays i give you head, tuesdays and thursdays you give head to me. seems fair to me??? the weekends we just chillax. |

Neither takes it - that's the fairest way. Yes, both die then but at least you're saving yourself the inevitable debate over who should take it.
You either both die, or neither of you die. That's the fairest way I see it. |
Why lose two lives when you only have to lose one though
