Woman's cancer may have been fruit seed...

A woman in Tampa, Florida who was previously thought to have cancer may have been saved by coughing up a fruit seed.

Suffering from a crippling cough, Blanca Riveron was recently told she had a dark cancerous-looking spot on her lung.

It turned out the dark spot may have just been a seed from a fruit eaten 28 years ago, when her cough began.

Riveron, 62, is now able to blow up a balloon for her granddaughter - something she has never been able to do - reports WTSP News.

Her daughter Melody reminded her of a story from 1984 when Riveron accidentally inhaled a seed from a fruit on a Nispero tree.

"I told my daughter no, it can't be it. It's been 28 years - I mean it can't be it," Riveron said.

Although Riveron's breathing may still be affected by the fruit pit sitting in her lung for such a long time, the family considers it to be a miracle.

Riveron continued: "I can breathe, I can sleep. My life has changed completely."

28 years is a hell of a long time to suffer with that.

Incredible, surely she was checked regularly and with all the technology we have now surely the difference between a cancerous growth and a fruit seed could have been found out. What an amount of time to go by thinking you have cancer when all the time you haven't.
