I'd say she's probably the 2nd greatest female artist ever, after Kate Bush... but then Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin and Carole King give her a good run for the money.

(note: I do say artist, otherwise I'd put Aretha, Dusty, Etta, Nina and Billie ahead of her too)

I like them all, but the top 4 were just a lot more interesting than the other 3.
