Britain's Got Talent ended with a huge audience of 11.9m last night (Saturday), becoming the most-watched show of the year so far.

Ashleigh & Pudsey's win was seen by 11.38m (46.4%) between 7.30pm and 10pm, peaking with 13.8m in the last five minutes, and adding 496k (2.2%) on ITV1 +1.

Britain's Got More Talent bowed out with 1.59m (8.2%) immediately after the main show, grabbing an extra 128k on timeshift.

BBC One's The Voice - scheduled earlier to avoid a Got Talent clash - sunk to a new low of 5.64m (29.4%) at 6.10pm.

The National Lottery: In It To Win It (3.2m/13.7%) and Casualty (3.35m/13.1%) followed the singing contest, while The Cube took 2.97m (15.9%) for ITV1.

Keith Lemon's Lemonaid concluded with 1.78m (11.8%) at 5.45pm (+1: 122k). BBC One's screening of Madagascar logged 2.45m (18.4%).

160x120 Lord of the Ring - Gandalf
Elsewhere, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring pulled in 1.28m (5.6%) to Channel 4 from 6.45pm (+1: 260k).

Meanwhile, Top of the Pops earned BBC Two's best numbers with 1.42m (6.9%) at 10pm, while CSI: NY drew 1.02m (4.3%) an hour earlier at 9pm (+1: 142k).

Overall, ITV1 dominated primetime with 36.2% (+: 1.5%), ahead of BBC One's 20.2%. Channel 4 claimed third place with 5.6% (+1: 1%), followed by BBC Two's 4.9%, and Channel 5's 2.7%.

Scandinavian drama The Bridge continued with 705k (2.7%) and 639k (3.3%) on BBC Four between 9pm and 11pm.
Not good at all, it only clashed with BGT for 15 mins as well so that's no excuse. Viewers are switching off in droves.

Awful time to start 6.10pm, loads of my student friends weren't in for it starting so missed it last night, had to record it for them to watch later last night.

Sadly, more viewers will turn off as their favourites get sent home too, I think too many are going out too soon and if the wrong ones go tonight. I still think it will pick up,I hope so anyway.
It is always risky chopping and changing with start times though.Last night I could see the point with the BGT final being the case.

That's a pity cos I like it much more than either of Simon Cowells shows

Locke. 13-05-2012 09:59 AM

It needs something else to it, am starting to get bored myself

i agree, it lacks the excitement

The early start wouldn't have helped. I wouldn't have even known it was on earlier hadn't I been on TiBB at the time.

Stevep 13-05-2012 10:13 AM

I pretty much watched all the audition episodes as they were fresh and different, but quite literally 10 mins into the live shows and i got a tad bored and just had it on in the background whilst i was on my computer.

I think the format of the show is good enough, but it needs to be a little more 'spectacular'. I also think the coaches are all kinda terrible, well bar Will.i.am who is brilliant. No chemistry whatsoever. Also not too big a fan of Reggie...........oh and tension, needs.more.tension!

Is she getting negative press? I haven't heard any of it, what about?

Kizzy 13-05-2012 10:31 AM

Has been in the mirror, I know it's a rubbish paper but it could sway public opinion. It rants of her being a diva and snubbing big BBC bosses who gave her a 'big break'...And her rubbishing the show on chatty man.

Oh  Did she rubbish the show on Chatty man? that'd be a bit silly of her

Me. I Am Salman 13-05-2012 10:47 AM

I don't know about Chatty Man, but I remember reading that she apparently said The Voice was 'lame' on Graham Norton and that she never watched it back, but they edited her comments out before it was broadcasted.

I've completely given up on The Voice now, it's so boring. The auditions were great, as for the battles - I wasn't a fan but I still watched. The live shows though are tedious. There's no excitement at all, it lacks any form of energy. I won't be watching it again from now on.

Black Dagger 13-05-2012 11:26 AM

OMG... why is it doing so poorly

Although last night was awful, until Tyler, Adam and Jaz were on.

Niamh. 13-05-2012 11:28 AM

where is all this Tyler love coming from? I swear I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone last, listening to something different to everyone else...........he sounded like a strangled cat to me

MTVN 13-05-2012 12:12 PM

It is getting a bit boring now, and for all the talk about how much better the singing is most of the acts last night weren't really that good

I agree with you there Niamh, so fed up with the Simon Cowell shows. I loved the Voice to begin with (and I really do hate the BBC), blind auditions and the first round. The BBC had a very strong Ace in their pack with this show but spoilt it by having the public believe that the results show on the Sunday night were actually live. It fast lost viewers when they spotted judges and presenters all wearing the same clothing from Saturday night. Because of this the Voice has gone down in my estimation although I still prefare it to Cowells shows. I missed the first half hour of last night, not realising that it started at 6.10pm.

I guess the BBC can only blame themselves for the mess and lost of viewers.

Kizzy 13-05-2012 12:30 PM

This is one of the issues jessie had, wearing the same clothes to aid in editting of something she disagreed with it too and was blasted by the press for it....

Z 13-05-2012 12:38 PM

I can't watch it anyway but I think the choice in judges is terrible. Tom Jones is the only one who has any right to be there. Jessie J does have a good voice but it's a bit insulting to be coached by someone who's barely become famous - I'd much rather have seen someone like Nadine Coyle take the role if they wanted a young female. Will.i.am coaching anyone on how to sing is ridiculous. And the guy from The Script is a non entity.

Samuel. 13-05-2012 12:40 PM

Will.I.Am's the best thing about the show.

MTVN 13-05-2012 12:41 PM

Agreed, and Tom's probably the worst judge as well

Bearly become famous? she was playing stadiums with cris brown in america....

Locke. 13-05-2012 12:50 PM

Don't see how anyone can complain about Will really, he does everything (sing, rap, write, produce, etc), plus is easily the best thing about the show, and has probably been the best with his contestants aswell

Jack_ 13-05-2012 01:11 PM

I knew my thoughts would be reflected in the ratings, it's awful. I was so bored watching it last night, and it's a shame because during the Blind Auditions I thought it was better than BGT, but this week's semi-finals and last night's final shat all over it. The production differences, and hell, even the differences in talent are huge.
