I think Man City would have won this match anyway, after all Q.P.R.actually went ahead 'after' Joey Barton was sent off, City often can come with late goals.

The club and players that actually helped City win the title,(only on goal difference though), was Man Utd themselves, getting 8 points ahead of City and a better goal difference then too then allowing teams like Wigan to beat them and let it slip away, nothing to do with this one match and one sending off of a player.

King Gizzard 13-05-2012 08:51 PM

Be lucky to have a team next season

Marc 13-05-2012 09:57 PM

Seriously hate him.

Ninastar 13-05-2012 09:58 PM

what a royal ****

Ramsay 13-05-2012 10:02 PM

what a **** excuse for a captain

joeysteele 13-05-2012 10:11 PM

There are a fair few dubious Captains about, even one for England, the National team.I have seen Joey Barton captain well and also badly, like most Captains.

He did wrong today and has in the past but in my view as afootballer and midfielder in particular he is one of the best and it's why he has actually captained 2 teams in the last 2 seasons, Newcastle and Q.P.R.

If he got his attitude sorted once and for all, he would be the perfect player, as it is he is still an excellent midfielder.
The Managers he works under seem to realise and appreciate that too despite his attitude or he wouldn't be selected and certainly not made Captain either.I think he has served under at least 5 Managers in the last 3 seasons, only one had a problem with him and that was Shearer who was only Manager anyway for a few weeks.

Joey Barton: @Joey7Barton made 490 inaccurate passes in the opposition half of the pitch this season - the most of all outfielders in the PL

joeysteele 14-05-2012 03:48 PM

How many accurate ones did he make as a balanced argument though. How many inaccurate shots at goal have highly paid strikers made as opposed to actual accurate goals scored and on target.

Football is full of hits and misses from all players, Strikers, midfielders and defenders.

He is the type of scumbag Rangers would appreciate if they manage to crawl on their bellys like snakes enough to scramble a team together next season.

Joey Barton has threatened to "expose" footballer-turned-pundit Gary Lineker.

Lineker was part of the Match of the Day panel which criticised Barton for his behaviour before and after getting sent off in QPR's match against title winners Manchester City yesterday (May 13).

Barton initially said on Twitter that while he would "take it" from Alan Hansen and Lineker, he refused to be criticised by "that bell" Alan Shearer.

The QPR midfielder then rebuffed Lineker's defence of Shearer and his suggestion that Barton was attempting to deflect from "obvious and deserved criticisms".

Lineker then said to Barton: "Still raging then? Still kicking out? And still, presumably, misunderstood? But only by yourself I suspect."

Barton responded: "Do u wanna go there publicly "Mr Squeaky Clean" ? Think u should have a look in that vast closet of skeltons before u respond. (sic)

"I know a lot about THAT side to u the people don't and won't bat an eye lid at exposing u.

"So mind ur manners Squeaky... now back under your stone you odious little toad..."

Nice....

Can Barton speak English please lol.

Locke. 14-05-2012 05:18 PM

He has been charged with 2 counts of violent conduct

joeysteele 14-05-2012 06:15 PM

In that case if he is to be punished by the FA and they are right to do so in this instance, no one would excuse his behaviour at all, that will mean on top of the 4 match ban he will have m for his further sending off, he will now have more added to that and likely face a 9 to 12 match ban.
Which I am sure he expects at the very least and which will hopefully make him think.

He is not the first to be in this position and he won't be the last either, he will also need to realise he will be the verbal target again for all other clubs fans so he needs to use his ban time to get himself sorted.

King Gizzard 23-05-2012 05:35 PM

Joey Barton has received a 12 match ban

bbfan1991 23-05-2012 05:44 PM

No sympathy, what a twat he is.

MTVN 23-05-2012 05:50 PM

Basically a third of his season gone, thought it'd be 10 games

King Gizzard 23-05-2012 05:54 PM

Got to be consistent though, is what Barton done really that much worse than racial abuse? Which gets 8 matches..

Samuel. 23-05-2012 06:00 PM

Yes. Physical is worse than verbal, and Suarez was just being ignorant.

Black Dagger 23-05-2012 06:33 PM

His twitter tonight.

Deluded twat.

joeysteele 23-05-2012 11:31 PM

I said he would get a 9 to 12 match ban, personally I doubt Q.P.R. will be prepared to wait for him that long or even want to keep him anyway.

I still admire his great footballing talent and always will while accepting his temper is a big drawback to permanent success for him.

My only hope is that he gets a lifeline again from the man who also really massively admires hs footballing skills and who gave him his lifeline,( after the Man City incident ),at Newcastle and that is Sam Allerdyce, who is a person and also a Manager Joey really respects and looks up to 'and' who is likely the only Manager who could keep him under control.

He has been there before but this time and at his age too, he is in the very last chance saloon,I hope he still has a future in football but who knows now really.

MTVN 26-05-2012 11:32 PM

Just heard on talksport that we are apparently actually interested in him
