Is The Apprentice losing its spark?

Found myself getting really bored this series, I was only half watching it tonight and looking at the clock. I don't really like the new format, the whole business deal thing just doesn't work for me. I reckon that Sugar has a good idea who he wants from the off, which is why we see all these dodgy firings. Tom winning the other year was basically proof all the tasks were pointless and they most likely will be this year too.

Stopped watching after week 3. I want to watch the old ones. But I prefer Karen to Margaret. Not that that's a massive thing but Margaret does annoy me.

I'm quite annoyed by the whole business deal thing because although seeing how they are as a business person is important, surely their business itself and their plans for that specifically holds more weight than how many crummy bits of furniture they could sell in one night or whether they could avoid making a cheesy advert in the very limited time.

Doesn't sound very much like hiring a bright new apprentice to me.

I thought tonight's was hilarious actually but I've not really been bothered to tune in most weeks and haven't been that interested. It's getting a bit repetitive now and they're mainly relying on comedy it seems

This series has been rather dull mainly due to a weak cast and the format itself feels outdated, candidates like Stuart Baggs, Raef, Katie Hopkins and Lucinda however annoying they may be they're the ones you remember and there have been no stand outs this year but saying that it's one of the better reality TV shows so I would be sad to see it go. I think it has another one or two series' left in it before the BBC decides to pull the plug or Lord Sugar steps down.

There aren't really many good characters this series, and the hopeful ones (Maria, Biliana) to cause sparks got voted off first.

I got to about week 3 before I lost interest. I think it was tough for it to live up to last series.

Jords 16-05-2012 11:55 PM

Its my favourite reality tv show :hmph:

psychtracker 10-06-2012 02:33 AM

Yep, agree with Jords...tis my fav reality show as well, and another excellent season!

Shaun 10-06-2012 02:42 AM

Still far more interesting viewing than BB or I'm a Celeb :pipe:

GeorgeTimms 10-06-2012 10:27 AM

I think its still pretty good! But they need to change the challenges a bit.

BTW you can catch Lord Sugar on Stazoo!

Braden 10-06-2012 10:32 AM

I don't know if it's because series 7 was so good, but I felt underwhelmed by this series. It was pretty bland and I couldn't watch all of it.

MTVN 10-06-2012 12:32 PM

Only really enjoy while you've still got the token idiot who's really good comedy value, was Stephen this year

BB4LIFE_SD 14-06-2012 05:28 AM

Don't have really any input about the UK version, but our version was really dull this year. Most of the time I didn't even watch ours because it was so boring. My question is will they even have another Celeb Apprentice next year and if so will it not be as dull?

I'm an impartial observer, i live in Oz. But honestly the UK Apprentice is 10x times better than your Trump, ego driven, commercial drivel.

Yes Trump is the worse one.

Joelle. 19-06-2012 06:05 PM

It wasn't a great cast this year but I really don't think the format change has helped either. If the business plans get any worse next year, they should just revert back to the old format. Last year's definitely had a far better line up, but the fact that they are no longer competing for a job makes all the tasks fairly redundant. Also, the final task when they brought back all the candidates is sorely missed.

The biggest crime this series though, is not letting us see Adam's business plan :nono:

rinkydinkpanther 21-06-2012 01:47 AM

yes. why? because the tasks are too gimmicky. they need to last longer than 1 day. its just a farce and teaching us very little about business. if it was a few days wed have a chance to see if ideas and strategies really work in the real world.

True. That's the big reason why I didn't watch almost all of it.

rinkydinkpanther 22-06-2012 02:52 PM

the trump one was better this year for the first time, mainly because sugars apprentice has gone downhill...the tasks vary from girls selling kisses to something over the top with sugar using his connections to rent out the stock exchange and make multi million deals....both extremes are ridiculous and have no relevance to your average entrepreneur

The last series did lack something but as people have already mentioned it's still a good show.

Patrick 27-06-2012 09:59 AM

It was never a good show.

Gstar 15-09-2012 01:25 PM

The series we had this year was quite tragic, but it could be down to the fact that the last 'adult' and 'young' apprentice series were one of the best ever.

But then again I stopped watching halfway through so yeah

Benjamin 15-09-2012 01:28 PM

Yeah, I still like the Apprentice, but the candidates this year were not very interesting.

Roy Mars III 15-09-2012 01:31 PM

Stephen was the only good one this year, the rest were terrible
