I do like/love them all but they're all massively overhyped by some people. Which is fine really, they're all better people to hype than, say, Take That or Lady GaGa, but still...

I remember there being a thread like this a few months ago and I remember having a good laugh at those who said The Beatles are overrated. :joker: Awww.


Anyway, that I can think of:
Adele, One Direction, Lady Gaga, Coldplay.

This is just like asking: "Popular artists who you don't like".

To an extent everything's overrated and not as good as it's made out to be. People expect and anticipate too much.

It's obligatory for someone to mention the Beatles in threads like these Kate :p it's fine, I guess... but they are the best band ever and there's no disputing that :idc:

Adele definitely. Really good singer, can't think of a better current female singer off the top of my head, but her actual songs aren't anything special.

I think everyone I have come across,past and present has made at least some recordings I liked, even Cheryl Cole but I would say she for me is massively overrrated.

All of their albums have gone to #1 on the UK albums chart. Evidently it's not just me :tongue: but I agree, they are overrated if you look at that statistic, it is a bit of a joke. I do love them though.

It's hard to answer the OP... there are lots of musicians I don't listen to because I dislike their music but I think they're talented too, just not my cup of tea. I'd agree with Nirvana being overrated. As far as I'm concerned, Smells Like Teen Spirit is an incredibly overrated song and I think they've been elevated to this ridiculous level of popularity because of Kurt Cobain's death.
