Where have you been?

No, this isn't Rihanna's new song (which is crap, anyway) - where have you been in the world? As in, have you been abroad? If so, where? Poll coming up. Obviously, the poll's multichoice so you can vote for as many countries as you've been. Feel free to post any places you've been that haven't been mentioned on the poll (that's why the 'other' box is there for you to tick).

Pyramid* 27-05-2012 09:56 AM

Lots there that aren't included...

Also:

Malta
Saudi Arabia
Bahrain
Oman
Venezuala
Marguarita Island
Several Greek Islands (Crete, Corfu, Rhodes as well as Athens)
Cyprus
Germany
Majorca
Portugal
Thailand

Redway 27-05-2012 09:59 AM

Apologies - I missed out the 'other' option. I'll ask a moderator to change that.

Anyway, Pyramid*, seems you're a right voyager. :joker:

Yes, I am very well travelled and highly appreciative of it too..... making me think though: I am sure there are other places that I've not mentioned. That's the old memory going! Oh.. Turkey a few times also!

IIRC, Angus58 has been to so many wonderful countries.

Shaun 27-05-2012 12:44 PM

why does Tenerife get a separate mention from Spain :suspect:

but anyway I've only been to Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Portugal (outside of the UK - I've only been to England and Wales here too)

Mrluvaluva 27-05-2012 12:47 PM

I've been to Nice, and the Isle of Greece
While I've sipped champagne on a yacht
I've moved like Harlow in Monte Carlo
And showed 'em what I've got

Maia 27-05-2012 12:53 PM

Been to France several times, Belgium, Spain, and Australia

Marsh. 27-05-2012 12:56 PM

Edit : Also The Netherlands

Jarrod 27-05-2012 12:59 PM

It is not Spanish mainland. It is a Spanish island.

In the same way that Greece is the mainland, and Greek islands are not.

In the same way that Sicily is part of Italy but is an island.

You may have gone to Nerja, but that is not the same as Tenerife or Lanzarote for instance.

Same way as Majorca is part of the Baleric Islands - rather than Spain.

Samuel. 27-05-2012 01:01 PM

England :spin2:
Scotland
Wales
Spain
Bulgaria
Corfu, Greece (definitely my favourite)
Rhodes, Greece

Pyramid* 27-05-2012 01:03 PM

Oh.. Phuket as well.. seeing as it is not mainland Thailand.

:D

MTVN 27-05-2012 01:05 PM

Of the ones on the poll; Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, England, USA (Colorado), Scotland, Wales & Greece (well to Greek islands - Corfu & Zante). Also been to Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria & Poland. Mainly European countries basically, would like to go to more eastern European countries and some South American ones

Locke. 27-05-2012 01:06 PM

I went on a cruise ship around Europe when I was about 6 or 7 but can't remember exactly what countries to.

Other than that Spain, Northern Island, and Wales.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Tenerife a Spanish island but not actually in Spain? You could be right but as far as I know it's a Spanish island, not part of the country in itself.

Bollo 27-05-2012 01:13 PM

France, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Greece ( Islands & Mainland) Austria, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, USA (New York/Staten Island)

Quite boring. But then I only went to Ypres and a small town outside of it so aside from the WW1 history there wasn't much we did

joeysteele 27-05-2012 01:16 PM

Been to a lot of them before I was 18, California mainly in the USA as I have an Aunt lives there, I have cousins in Canada relatives in Australia, friends in Japan so when I finish Uni I can globe trot for a short while visiting all those people.
I now have a cousin who has moved to Prague too so will get over to see her sometime as well.
No time for travel just now, all my efforts and time are going into Uni and my studies.

Shaun 27-05-2012 01:17 PM

and I know it's an island I just thought it was an odd one out since the others are all countries (or nation states in the case of Eng/Scot/Wales/N.I.) or groups of countries

Wise. At least when you finish your University studies you'll know you truly deserve to go on holiday.

Oh, right. Decent destination to visit for holiday, though. It was either that or Russia.

Jordan. 27-05-2012 01:21 PM

Spain (& Canary Islands)
France
England..
Turkey

Yeah, I hear Belgium's pretty dry. I look at it as a country not fit to be called a 'holiday destination'. That's unless you're into history and all that. But very few are.

You are correct Redway.

It is an island and not part of mainland Spain.

It like a person saying they have visited England - when in fact the only place close to England that they set foot on was ... for instance Jersey for example. :D

:D

Niall 27-05-2012 01:49 PM

I've been to: Ireland, England, Wales, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, UAE (Dubai), China (Beijing, Shanghai), America (Florida, California, New York, Atlanta, Las Vegas), Italy, and Mexico.
