Right well now we know about it, and I'm sorry but if the world has learnt anything from AIDS and Swine Flu - it's to keep Americans and Mexicans in their own countries until they can come up with a decent vaccine or cure before they go about ******ing spreading it and doing the rest of the world damage once again.

The person who died recently from Rabies.... that was due to her visiting another country (India) - nothing to do with keeping 'anyone over there' (where ever 'there' may be) - regardless.

How do you propose Patrick that the countries who have this insect, stop it from flying out of their countries and moving onto other continents - via cargo, foodstuff, trapped in containers, flying into ship cargo holds, into aircraft engines, into aircraft holds etc?

I'm aware of that too - ban people from visiting Mexico or America. Not that anyone would really go to Mexico anyway.

I suggest they take alot more care, and again stop importing food, cargo, goods etc to other countries, until the situation can be contained in some way.

Ah right. So we completely cut off the USA and all of the Americas & surrounding areas that may have this insect, for however long it may take to erradicate it or find a vaccine - which of course, could be never.

This reminds me of the West Nile Virus outbreak from 10 years ago.

At least since it comes from insect bites we can fight them with insecticide. In many parts of California they already spray insecticide over entire cities to kill Mosquitos because of West Nile Virus. They tell the neighborhood when they will do it and encourage everyone to stay indoor for the day. Hopefully those same insecticides they use against mosquitos also kill the insects that spread this new disease.
