To all of you bitching about Channel 5's BB
 

Lets get some perspective.

Channel 4 no longer wanted the show. Channel 4 used to love BB it was their unique controvercial headline grabbing show then they **** their pants over offcom and turned it into some gimmicky nightmare aka Freddy Krueger circa A Nightmare On Elm Street 4 (random fact)

Can we all remember the travesty that was the BB11 titles which looked like they belonged on a nicekodian kids show.

I mean wtf was up with Bob Ryder or whatever his name was? And Davina Mcaaw! LOL BB11 was the most pathetic excuse for a BB series ever.

For years after the race row Channel 4 blocked alcohol and went super strict on housemates behaviour just incase they may offend some sort of "minority"

BB went from groundbreaking on Channel 4 to a pre watershed **** stain. ChanneL 5 may have made BB a bit more glossy but they have 100% made it more X rated again.

BB is an adult show and well done to Channel 5 for brininging it back to that.

BB11 rewards= Sweet parties with balloons and sherbert dips

BB12 rewards= **** loads of beer and naked pool fun

But BB on Channel 5 haven't improved on the mistakes made towards the end of BB on Channel 4. They've made things worse.

How have they?

Bar live feed they have kept it the same.

BB11 had exactly the same tacky editing with music montages.

Channel 5 has been less gimmicky, no talking parrots or Bob Shyter.

The morning montages, previously on BB, flashbacks and Marcus' commentary and the episode dedicated to the past month or so are vastly different from the Channel 4 BB. Also the cast they'd chosen of all young, dumb people made it seem like they were trying to TOWIE it up. :)

God, the BB11 opening really was ****e.

Rather it stopped with Channel 4. Channel 5 is woeful.

BB11 was crap but wth the titles were really good :suspect:

BB11 had montages. BB12 made it worse with flashbacks and floating housemates' names (for those who can't understand Marcus' increasingly sloppy diction).

The talking parrott/tree/chest of drawers have gone but the last CBB had talking Jedward statues.

BB10 toyed with cutting back on the live feed. BB12 axed it completely because the yoof of today would rather read a handful of tweets than watch a TV set.

BB11 had an experienced TV presenter, BB12 had some bloke that won a reality TV show.

To be fair, BB12 got one thing right - a good set of housemates. But BB13 may already have reversed that with token oldies, couples and OTT audition rejects being thown in (according to rumours).

I was not enamoured of the last few series on 4 but Endemol have continued down the same route on the new channel.

Other than the lack of 'live' feed,I have really enjoyed BB on C5, to me they saved it from disappearing altogether and still seem committed to it.

C4 BB will always be better.

The earlier years maybe but not the last few years. I really enjoyed BB12, it was a huge improvement on BB11

Bar the name tags on-screen (Which is getting very toned down), everything people complain about on the C5 Version existed in abundance on the C4 show. Davina's hosting was getting just as bad, twists were terrible and overdone, those stupid mini-interviews before HMs enter the house, lack of live feed, interference with the outside world etc.

It doesn't matter. C4 gave us many years of fantastic BB. C5 have yet to give me a single one. CBB9 was an improvement on last year but not by much.

Here is how I see it. Big Brother on C5 is like a remake of your favourite film, never as good as the original but still good.

I don't know about that, each series depends more on HMs than anything else. BB10 for example, it's one of my favourite series but that's 100% down to the HMs, C4 put no effort into it and made stupid decisions (like sending Isaac in -not that he wasn't an interesting HM, I just think it was a terrible move and completely ruined any chance Noirin had of surviving her eviction that week- )

Bar the name tags & the lack of LF, Im really enjoying BB on Channel 5, lets all be honest here if it wasn't for them buying BB it wouldn't be on our screen.

It really is only live-feed and when a showmance takes over the whole show 'Faaron' were an exception for me. If they got live-feed back and replaced Brian and didn't have morons on BOTS I'd be very happy.

I agree with all of that - and I've said this time and time again during BB12, non stop parties, alcohol, fights and drama is what BB was all about back in the golden days.

HOWEVER, it's the overall management and production of the show that has went to sh*t.

The way Channel 5 ignore fans, which CH4 did too but at least we got LF and decent titles etc - I mean I'm sorry but say what you want about BB11's titles.. they piss all over anything we've had since then.

The houses are the same old plastic bollocks now, it's just a studio with a few new repeating backdrops on the wallpaper and new furniture and a load of neon lights - at least on CH4 the budget was bigger and they went all out on the houses.


Both broadcasters ******ed the show up - and BB9 was the last great series we had, I partly blame the credit crunch for BB10's mess up though.

People do need to stop acting like C4 was amazing and treated Big Brother like gold, because they didn't - they use to, but from 2009 onwards they bastardized it. However, Channel 5 aren't making it any better, in terms of actual production, when they really could if they just listened to us.
Endemol are so fortunate that Big Brother has one of the biggest and most vocal fanbase of any franchise, they should be thankful that we speak out about what we hate and love - and build on that, not blank us and treat us like idiots.
