Big Brother Starts Tomorrow...

Jack_ 04-06-2012 01:06 AM

LOL. Precisely.

You wouldn't think it would you. Terrible really.

Maia 04-06-2012 01:08 AM

A live feed return announcement would get everyone buzzing

Oh well

Patrick 04-06-2012 01:08 AM

If this were 2009, we'd of literally been acting like it was Christmas Eve.

reece(: 04-06-2012 01:11 AM

I didn't even know it was tomorrow, the advert on C4 the other day said Coming Soon..., they could at least give a bit more push to the advertising!

Oh well

I know. I keep saying this in most threads but it's the truth. There's only one thing that would get everybody here, on DS, on the Facebook/Twitter pages talking again - the announcement of a return for live feed. There'd be so much buzz about it, I think this forum would go into meltdown and I know my excitement would go into overdrive. It wouldn't just keep it going until launch either, it'd keep the buzz going throughout the whole series, that's what live feed does - there's always stuff to talk about. This place was like a ghost town during the day during BB last year.

I don't know why either but I seem to want live feed back this year more than I did last year. And I honestly think it's because of the house, it's giving me BB7 vibes, I can imagine myself sitting there watching all the housemates on live feed - but at the minute we can't and I'm finding it really disappointing.

Honestly C5 need to really think this through, they just putting all us hardcore fans to one side.

They can't include the date when advertising on other channels unfortunately. However, they could of included the dates on billboards - which they haven't bothered with.

Not to worry, I'm sure we'll see them in August for their precious CBB.

Maia 04-06-2012 01:14 AM

Wish they did billboards this year. Last year felt so exciting, like a massive event was on it's way with Big Brother coming back. This year just feels like we're waiting for the next episode of Newsnight.

They'll be pondering on why ratings will drop as well but stay high for CBB where all the promo goes to. Watch it only be CBBs in the future.

Patrick 04-06-2012 01:18 AM

It's just backwards. CBB does well anyway, they don't need to advertise it.

Everyone knew there would be a CBB in January, it's been like that for years - it's part of Winter. So that's fine.

But the fact Big Brother's ratings are already low and people don't know when it's on, whether CBB is on instead, if it's axed, if it's starting in September again etc - proves that they needed billboards more for BB13 than they did for CBB9.

Jack_ 04-06-2012 01:23 AM

Hm, I've been thinking about the new contract they signed till 2014. With that are we absolutely sure that it specifies two more years worth of both BB and CBB? Like, are we actually sure that that is what it entails, and not that perhaps it's just a general contract for the brand itself, and that they'll decide what to run within the next two years? Because if that is the case, we could be ****ed. It is definitely conceivable that they'd run two CBB's a year.

Also, with regards to the overexposure of CBB and Tuesday's launch, I bet you there will be many people tuning in expecting to see celebrities going in, thinking that it was Celebrity Big Brother. I seriously bet that on Twitter they'll be a number of comments saying 'thought it was gonna be celebs going in lolz normal people is sh*t switching off innit xx' and 'oh it's not celebrities? boring lul'. That's how overexposed CBB has become.

Patrick 04-06-2012 01:25 AM

Agree exactly with that last part. That is what they've done to the show.

I literally put something on Facebook the other day - well when the eye was released, and someone commented going:

'oh looks fab. so whos going in? :D'

I was like '...I don't ******ing know?'
I mean people really expect it to be CBB constantly, and tbf - you can't blame them for thinking that. Considering Channel 5 either run more CBBs than the normal series itself, or when the normal series is on, all they do is throw celebrity guests in.

rk3388 04-06-2012 01:25 AM

WELL IM EXCITED :D can not wait

Patrick 04-06-2012 01:26 AM

OMG I just remembered BB11 had a better hype than this too.

iRyan 04-06-2012 01:27 AM

I'm extremely excited tbh.

I'm not gonna let no live feed stop me from enjoying the series. Yes it'd be an amazing bonus and I wish we had it - but i've watched plenty of past series without a live feed.

Well, obviously lol. BB11 was supposed to be the last series and there was a live feed.

daniel-lewis-1985 04-06-2012 01:29 AM

TBF everyone is pissing and moaned about there being no build up for years now.

Im actually excited but im going to the launch so...

Jake. 04-06-2012 01:30 AM

Im pretty excited!

DigitalSid 04-06-2012 01:34 AM

There was less discussion on DS last year than this year build up wise believe it or not. There have been about 5 or 6 threads there this past two days, there was 1 or 2 last year. Hopefully with the dress rehearsal that usually takes place the day before and the tweets and info we get from that and with the possibility of the ITV ads airing last minute during the soaps, things will have picked up by launch morning. But as has been said, the only thing that will bring back hype on the forums is a live feed.

Oh I know, like it makes sense. I just forgot all about that - because it was a bad series, It just hit me how good the hype actually was then.

According to Marcus the show's too expensive for Endemol to do BB less than the length of a summer series so hopefully that won't happen but I wouldn't be surprised.

Mrluvaluva 04-06-2012 01:45 AM

Enjoy the launch.

daniel-lewis-1985 04-06-2012 01:49 AM

Probably because it was on straight after CBB8 , it didn't feel like a separate series till after Pamela left.

rk3388 04-06-2012 01:52 AM

thats because they made the mistake of making all the bb12's cast look like bastards in their VTs
Only ones they didnt were heaven, alex and louise i think.
And mark, but we all knew he rehearsed his lines well before they recorded his VT
