Kids and mobile phones
 

At what age do you think children should be given mobile phones? I'd say around 11/12 personally...if I ever had kids, it would probably be for contact and to stop them getting bullied because they don't have one. You?

I got mine when I was 8.

I know kids at the age of 5 with Blackberrys though.

Yeah about 11, that's when I got my first one, just before starting secondary schoool

I got mine just before Year 6. I think that's the best time.

Had one in year 6, never used it. They don't really become useful until you're in secondary school. Me and my sister would text each other in lessons. If there was a problem, she was there for me at the drop of text. Really useful stuff hahaha.

Depending on what age they start walking home from school without parents, leaving their estate... I got my first phone when I was 10/11, and I've gone through around 13 phones since.

I didn't have a mobile phone until I was 14.

I had one when I was like 9 and then I managed to go about 5 years without one until I was 16 ..now I cant live without my mobile, I dont know how I survived so long without one :s

I wasn't allowed one til I was 13... but I'd probably get me kid one whenever I feel they need it.

I got my first when I was 11.

I got my first one at 9, in 1999.

I was 9 when I first got mine, but I didn't feel like I needed one until about Y6, so aged 11.

I'd say 10 seems a 'perfect' round age.
