Nicole Scherzinger is the new X-Factor UK judge

Nicole Scherzinger has negotiated a deal to become The X Factor's fourth permanent judge.

The former Pussycat Dolls singer has agreed a fee of £750,000 ($1.17 million) to take a seat at the judges' table alongside Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos, according to The Mirror.

"Nicole's management have negotiated a good deal," a programme insider claimed. "It's a great salary considering most of the auditions have already been done by special guests."

It was reported last week that she was to be offered the role permanently - with a fee of £500,000 ($777,420) touted - after impressing producers during a guest stint at the London auditions.

Scherzinger has previous experience as a judge on The X Factor USA. Originally contracted to host the show alongside Steve Jones, she soon became a judge when Cheryl Cole was axed from the panel days into filming the first series.

However, Scherzinger herself was dropped from the US version of the show at the start of the year, along with Paula Abdul. The pair were ultimately replaced with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato for the programme's forthcoming second season.

It has been speculated that a formal announcement could come ahead of the show's forthcoming auditions in Newcastle, which take place on June 18.
Thoughts?

Good stuff, wish she was replacing Tulisa though

Mystic Mock 15-06-2012 01:55 AM

Awful decision.

Shaun 15-06-2012 01:57 AM

oh christ... she was awful on the USA one. Too indecisive.

How bloody boring. Awesome singer and everything but so dull as a judge. Not overly fussed on X Factor anymore so no big deal I suppose.

Locke. 15-06-2012 02:07 AM

She's crap. At everything.

Jack_ 15-06-2012 02:13 AM

Awful choice. I liked her when she was a guest judge in 2010 but her stint on the US version last year when everyone including myself were expecting great things turned out to be abysmal, she was totally awful as was Paula.

And I'm surprised she's accepted this considering how big a demotion it is...I don't think I'd be too pleased if I were her.

Weird though as I actually predicted she'd end up on our panel next year (with Kelly on the US one), but I forgot about that, seems I may have been right after all.

BBfanUSA 15-06-2012 03:56 AM

The only good things she's responsible for...sort of...One Direction and Pussycat Dolls. That's all

Saph 15-06-2012 10:52 AM

I like her, but for her to come from X factor US to X factor UK must seem like a step down /:

I think they should have got someone like a rapper as the fourth judge. Missy Elliott's not up to much nowadays..

Its a singing comp not rap, I remember a rapper auditioning once and he got sent away lol

Jords 15-06-2012 10:55 AM

Anyway she'll be more comfortable over here in the UK but I do think its a little bit boring of a choice, a fresh face would have been more welcomed.

:joker: true. Maybe they should get a Spice Girl :amazed: but not Emma Bunton ..I have a feeling shes a bitch. Mel C would be good seen as she was the only one that could actually sing :/

They could even get Alexandra Burke, she was good standing in for Kelly last year.. I would say Leona but she would probably be a bit boring.

Black Dagger 15-06-2012 11:08 AM

She was really good in 2010 on our version, then she ****ed off to do the US version and she was sodding dreadful with her acts, bar Josh and she ruined him some weeks.

Not impressed, Tulisa and Louis are the only reason I'll watch.

Andrew. 15-06-2012 11:10 AM

so happy.

1. I Liked the Rachel Girl.

2. Nicole unintentionally eliminated her. She didn't want to eliminate Marcus directly. And since he's been in the sing off for the lsat 3 weeks. She though Deadlock would've eliminated him

Smithy 15-06-2012 12:25 PM

Shoulda been Anastasia :bored:

Sam:) 15-06-2012 12:36 PM

Shes so robotic, Really big mistake

Jordan. 15-06-2012 01:00 PM

Let's hope she destroys annoying fat girls on our XF too.

Tom4784 15-06-2012 01:04 PM

Boring, She'll probably get booted next year if she's anything like she was on XFUS.

Jack_ 15-06-2012 03:13 PM

This is now 100% confirmed by the looks of things.

Nicole Scherzinger to be judge on The X Factor

Nicole Scherzinger has been confirmed as a permanent judge on the new series of The X Factor.

The former Pussycat Doll singer was on the panel of the US version last year but has now been replaced by Britney Spears and Demi Lovato.

The UK show had been trying out different judges during the auditions, with Nicole, Geri Halliwell, Leona Lewis and Rita Ora all appearing.

Talks with Dannii Minogue to return to the series ended unsuccessfully in May.

Nicole Scherzinger will join the returning panel of Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos in a deal worth a reported £750,000.

"I'm so excited to join the UK X Factor family," said the 33-year-old.

"It's where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle.

"I can't wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists."

Nicole had previously appeared as a guest judge on the UK show in 2010.

However her time on US X Factor ended after the show's debut season fell short of Simon Cowell's prediction of 20 million viewers.

Nicole and Paula Abdul were ditched in favour of Disney star Demi Lovato and Britney Spears.

The vacant judge's chair on the UK show came up after former Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland ruled herself out.

Nicole will start her new job on 18 June when the auditions arrive in Newcastle and she'll also be in Cardiff on 25 June for the final date of the tour.

The X Factor returns to ITV at the end of the summer.

Honestly, this is a terribly disappointing choice. I like her but this just isn't exciting enough.

They should've tried harder for Katy Perry...the US get Britney and we get a failed judge from over there?

Patrick 15-06-2012 07:32 PM

I've honestly loss track/interest in who's hosting XFUS and XFUK - it's changed that ******ing many times. I don't care.

reece(: 02-07-2012 05:51 AM

I wanted Anastacia!!

Munchkins 02-07-2012 06:39 AM

Predictable :l
Shes nice, just doesn't connect with me..
