Just not seeing it guys
 

Ok, so I started to watch Big Brother 9 and so far have got about 3 or 4 weeks in. But so far I just don't see why people like this one so much. None of the housemates are really appealing or likeable charisma wise to me. And the freak show aspect of it is something other series got right but this year was bordering on disturbing. Having a blind man, a couple, an albino and a big Asian girl who doesn't speak much good English just seems like ratings desperation at best, and downright exploitative at worst.

There just isn't a pleasant atmosphere to it. I love the graphics and the house don't get me wrong, and I'm sure it gets good once Rex kicks off but at the moment I just am not drawn in by it.

I really enjoyed every other year, and can rewatch series 5-7 and adore them. So what am I missing with this one? Do I have to keep watching?

Can't really remember it well (4 years long time), but Rex alone is worth watching.

And the Fight Night was class too.

It goes downhill after Luke and Bex get evicted.

It gets better and better as it goes on, just watch how the great B Block take over and control the house

I find BB9 to be overrated. Sure, it was good and a definite improvement on BB8 but nowhere near as good as some people on here always make out. Lots of the housemates were very unlikeable and there were some weeks where it was very boring. Plus BB9 gave us the worst ever female winner of BB.

BB10 was better.

Get yourself checked out, something really isn't right here. It's quite clear.

I'd be worried if I were you. Big Brother 9 is the best series ever. I will accept that others may like BB3, BB5, BB6 and BB7 more than that - we can all have our opinions regarding those series, but to say you don't enjoy BB9 or feel any atmosphere in it?

As for the housemates - they piss all over the BB7 Cast and any other housemates we've had since then, BB10 had a good few.
They do not need to be 'pleasant' - infact if you like pleasant housemates, you'll love the ending of BB9 I suppose - considering who wins. :bored: But yes, sit back and watch Rex and Darnell work their magic.

It's under rated. [Maybe not on TiBB, I think DS worship BB7 and TiBB worships BB9 - but in general, it's under rated]

I agree.

I didn't mind BB9 but other than Rex the great and a few events I don't recall anything standout that I loved (don't shoot me Patrick :p), and in all honesty the crowning of the worst winner ever has probably tarnished my memory of it. I might re-watch it one day.

My top three series are:

BB7
BB6
BB10

And if we don't **** up this year, BB13 will be in fourth or even third.

You need to get yourself onto BB5 before anything else though. :p

It's majorly overrated, gets piss poor after all the bitchy characters go (Steph,Alexandra,Sylvia,Jennifer), gets a bit better when Nicole comes but overall quite a filler series. Rex was alright. I'd say it beats BB11 and 12 but not 5,6,7,8,10 and 13 so far.

It's overrated. The first month is good, but the idiotic voters evict most of the good housemates. After that the only people keeping it alive are Lisa, Rex, Sara, Bex, and Luke.

Everyone in here has pretty much hit the nail on the head, it's vastly overrated. BB10 was much better, possibly BB8 as well.

I mean it was still a very good series, but it was by no means the best series ever.

The first few weeks were great, but the housemates became VERY irritating by the end, thank god Sara and Lisa were there otherwise I wouldn't have been able to watch. I do appreciate BB9 for giving me one of my most loved housemates ever, Sara Folino <3

The group of Mikey/Rachel/Mo/Darnell/Kathreya was horrendous. They totally played up to the "outcasts" role and it was annoying as ****. I actually liked some of them at the beginning but then they became incredibly tedious. Darnell was absolutely awful by the end, constantly playing the victim. Even Rex annoyed me at the end acting all hunky dory with the outcast group. I guess that's what "ruined" the series for me in a sense, because that group took over the show.

The cast just screamed desperation, it was too much of a freakshow. Rebecca, Luke, Sara, Lisa, and Rex saved the show. And great housemates like Sylvia, Steph, Jen, and Alexandra were out too soon.

Though fair dues the cast was better than BB7, but nobody in BB7 really annoyed me like the BB9 crew did (except for god awful Lea and Lisa).

But yeah, I would still say BB9 > BB11 & BB12

I may end up giving it a rewatch this summer for the hell of it. Even though it's only been 2 years since i've seen it.
