Help! Why is my laptop saying it needs a battery replacement!?

wtf- why is my laptop saying it needs a battery replacement!? WHY?
Has anyone here ever had to replace their battery?

Mine does the same.

Does it run out real quick when you take the charger out?

Redway 17-06-2012 08:32 PM

How much battery do you have in percentage and minutes?

I'm scared to take the charger out because by the battery logo on the bottom right hand corner a red X keeps beeping over it saying it may turn off completely at any minute. So i'm keeping the charger in :S

Well 100% but the chargers still in because it may turn off-

a message by the battery thing says- 'There is a problem with your battery so your computer might shut down suddnley', and above it says 'Consider replacing your battery'

It's probably knackered, mine nearly is too, it doesn't charge anymore so I need to keep it constantly plugged in

Happned to mine, it still worked when plugged out but it wouldnt give a time estimate on how much was remaining. Your probably okay for a while anyway

Meh- I'll keep it plugged in then until I can be arsed to fork out for a new one.

Roughly how much do laptop batteries cost?

It's knackered. Leave it for 24 hours and it should work.

It's worth a shot. If it doesn't work after that then clearly you'd need to get a new laptop battery, as has been said on here.
