Saint's Row Goes Fourth - Sequel confirmed for next year
 

Saints Row 3 DLC Enter The Dominatrix has been cancelled and will now be incorporated into Saints Row 4.

Jason Rubin’s arrival at THQ seems to have been the main reason for this expansion now becoming part of the next major game in the franchise, instead of being a separate download.

“When I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise,” Rubin said. “I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed that we wanted to play that game.

“When it comes to Saints Row, it’s clear our fans want bigger, better and even more over the top, and that’s why Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, fully fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013.”

The last comment in the statement also hints at multiplayer for the next game in the series.

“We believe the potential for this sequel is far greater as a full-priced, full-length, high-quality connected experience.”

Although I don't think Saints Row Goes Fourth is officially the name at the moment, its just one going round

Didn't think they'd do another one, hopefully it's more like SR2 instead of the third

I'm guessing it will be out late next year, rather than early, especially with GTA V arriving around March time.

I personally hope it is toned down a tiny bit, Saints Row The Third kinda became a bit too silly, Saints Row 2 got the balance right

oh god if they become the new COD..releasing a new game every year..so stupid..way too soon..but i did enjoy SR3

Two years isn't that short, if they're using pretty much the same engine and everything.

But it's obvious this is happening because of how much **** THQ is in, and Saint's Row brings in the money.

They pretty much confirmed there would be a fourth around the time 3 was released. And as I say, there's no way THQ wouldn't do another.

Still haven't played 2, but 3 is one of my favourite games this generation.

What I like about SR2 is it fit in with Red Faction's canon, Ultor are the main bad guys in the RF series, and in Saints Row 2, Ultor play a big role too, and do a little 'setting up' for RF

In that case it would be called 'Saints Row Forever After' :suspect:

I do hope there's more of a story than there was in the third... I was finished within 4 days on that (and I don't play that often)
