Changing my opinion slightly......

I find with this years Big brother I'm changing my mind on people almost daily. Take Ashleigh for example, I really disliked her, then she stood to her group (a little) for Deanna and then last night, right well...........I don't think it's nice that she seems to have an irrational dislike for Lauren but I really liked her honesty about it, the fact that she said she doesn't like her because maybe she's sees her as a threat, I mean it was quite obvious that that was the case but I think it was quite admirable of her to actually admit that and not try and think of lies to hide it, I don't know, I just found it very refreshing. Thoughts?

I agree, she was the person I disliked most until she kind of stood up for Deana.

She is the 'Queen B' of the group though so she can pretty much say what ever she wants and I doubt the group would rebel.

That's true enough I suppose, we'll have to see what happens, I'll probably hate her again tomorrow

When she stood up for Deana it elevated her above the bully group imo, at least she does appear to have some degree of compassion for others. She's definitely a bit of a question mark still though, but she's got two big problems heading her way because she doesn't feel comfortable with the controlling Luke S and at the same time it seems to me that she's leading Conor on a bit too and she's going to have to tread very very carefully because we've already seen what can happen when he feels rejected.

edit: what I'm sayng is maybe once we've seen how she deals with those two problems will we know enough about her to make a judgment on whether she's a good housemate or not!!

Indeed Fruity, I have to say I am loving this year though, the HMs are alot more complex than I originally gave them all credit for

DrunkerThanMoses 27-06-2012 10:45 AM

Her constant "oh me and Luke S have nothing in common" cry is getting on my nerves, at least tell him to his face she wants to dump him. This says to me she is using him for camera time, only problem viewers have not interest in her and Luke.

Niamh. 27-06-2012 10:55 AM

I think she might have got with him so quickly because she was afraid Lauren was going to get him first if she didn't

Definitely, Conor has a g/f though, doesn't he?

True but she also said she was having a go at Lauren because she was a good person.

That happens a lot in the world outside the house.

And I think being biased against people because they are good by worse people because they are embarrassed to be around them because it reminds them they are not as good is not something which should be frowned upon, even if they admit it afterwards, they still were bad enough to do it in the first place, and that good person has often had to go through hell because of it.

Maybe not in Lauren's case, though I do think the treatment of her has been appalling.I'm making a general point here. That often good people outside what happens in the house are put through hell by worse people (some of them their whole life) because they are treated like dirt because they are good & remind wo9rse people that they are not as good.

It was good of her to admit it and I admire her for it but to have a go at people for being good and how they have to suffer for it is still bang o0ut of order.

I think both Ashleigh and Lauren have a lot of growing up to do. I find both extremely annoying.

My thought are... Niamh! You're an intelligent woman! What the hell are you thinking!?!? I detest Ashleigh. She's everything I hate in another woman. I've scraped classier stuff of my shoe.

True Cynical, but I think Lauren has an excuse a bit because she has probably not just with that gang, but probably all her life been treated like s**T because she is good.I';m not saying all good people are but often they are.I'd like to see her stand up for herself a bit more (which she has done a little bit recently) and maybe some of her friends stand up for her more too.But it's no wonder she's a wreck.Because she probably has had to face that sort of corruption her whole life.

Ashleigh's stock for me rises a little for standing up for Deanna and admitting she had a go at Lauren because she was good,

But IMHO having a go at someone for being good, because a lot of bad people on the outside make good people's (sometimes whole life's hell) is one of the worst things apart from any form of killing you can do.

How can it be getting on your nerves? She's only mentioned it twice... in two very short parts of the show. You act like it's a daily occurrence.

lol, She's by no means classy that's for sure, but tbf there's not alot of women who would actually admit to themselves and to the nation that they feel threatened by another woman because they feel they're better and more clever then themselves

I agree completely but maybe realising what she's doing and admitting it out loud, is a good step forward for her.

with respect, I'm not sure what is so 'good' about Lauren, dopey might be a better word. She put her membership of the 'team' in front of her own sister who had travelled all the way from Jersey to come and see her.

Everyone is cleverer than Ashleigh. I have a more intelligent hanging basket.

Exactly that was a defining moment for me ,one thing about Ashleigh is she is being herself nothing is hidden no game plan and I kinda like that about her, also she loves her dog loads which in my book makes her a cutie regardless of her foul mouth, which is getting better the longer she is in the house.

Yeah, she hasn't been swearing half as much lately

Thanks Niamh, and it helps advertise to those watching that it's not right in the outside world to pick on people because they are good too.

I think she is a really good person. I think I can tell by her lo0ok and the way she sounds really caring when she talks to some.I think I can feel it coming out of her.The girl has a really good and warm heart.

Yes she has voted wrongly and done the wrong things sometimes, but that's largely I think because she is a wreck emotionally inside, as most people are who are treated like that when they've done nothing wrong, and doesn't know who to trust or who is genuine and could be a true friend to her because of it.
