its not her choice at all she's a addict no different to drugs or booze. she needs help like any addict thats harming themselves

First off, to be that size at 19 isn't a choice. You don't spent your entire childhood a normal, healthy weight, and then pack on an extra person and a half worth of fat in 2 years. That is years of abusing her body, both while in the custody of her parents and on her own. She does not know what it's like to be thin, so she has nothing to compare to.

What I wonder is if she had the type of parents that deal with an obese child be locking up food and making it a forbidden obsession, or if she merely had the type who think frozen chicken nuggets is cooking a homemade meal from scratch and a nice break from McDonald's and Indian takeaway every night.

If she doesn't care about her weight, so be it I say, it is her choice. She loves food and is always eating, obviously her physical appearance isn't a priority for her. No biggie.

What I don't understand though, is why she gets annoyed with the other girls for being concerned about theirs. Most girls care about that type of thing, its just the reality, no need to get hostile when someone brings up calories.

Totally agree. The reality though, is that if she wanted to lose the weight, its completely her prerogative and she could. She just chooses not to. It's pretty simple. Workout everyday and lay off the sweets. She just can't be bothered.
