Humour, an appreciation of the absurd, the patience of a saint, a high 'idiot' threshold, the ability to express themselves without rambling on for an eon and in some cases, spellcheck. It also helps to either know a bit about a lot of things, or have the ability to make stuff up with style.

I think they have to be impossibly fast. And strong. Their skin has to be... pale white, and ice cold. Their eyes should change color... and sometimes they should speak like - like they're from a different time. They should never eat or drink anything; and they shouldn't go into the sunlight.
