Jayson 28-07-2012 02:43 PM

The Winner looks about 60

Jayson 28-07-2012 02:56 PM

The peloton (which is the main group of riders) left all the work to team GB to catch up with the leaders (the people that break away from the main group, usually leads to fatigue for the final sprint), which meant that it was harder to make up the distance between the two groups, which meant that team GB were left way behind at the end.

Novo 28-07-2012 02:59 PM

should have gone with the leading group when they broke from the peloton and then if Cav would have gone away with the front 2 he would have got at least a bronze

Jayson 28-07-2012 03:05 PM

They were trying to preserve Cav's energy for the final sprint, but they didn't expect the gap to be 50+ secs with under 10kms remaining.

Novo 28-07-2012 03:10 PM

yeah i know but i don't know why they never expected that everyone was going to race against them, they have a World Champion and a tour de france winner in their group they were never going to be given anything

Jayson 28-07-2012 03:14 PM

Yeah they got too cocky.

Hopefully we do well in the Time Trials.

InOne 28-07-2012 05:37 PM

When is the one they go around on the circuit on?

Shaun 28-07-2012 05:46 PM

the track cycling in the Velodrome starts on the 2nd of August

InOne 28-07-2012 05:52 PM

Shaun 29-07-2012 02:37 PM

Shaun 29-07-2012 02:39 PM

awwwww she's crying

Jayson 29-07-2012 02:49 PM

Good stuff, should be getting our first gold courtesy of Rebecca Adlington in the swimming later.

Novo 29-07-2012 03:31 PM

I missed it, was it close near the end?

Shaun 29-07-2012 03:33 PM

there were 3 of them at the front and she was third for most of it, but she & the dutch winner pushed for the final sprint where the Russian sort-of fell behind

Novo 29-07-2012 03:34 PM

The Dutch Winner was favourite if it's the one i'm thinking off, the one with the 3 letter surname?
