In danger of overplaying the 'victim' card..

I know she has had disgraceful things said about her by Conor and it has been nice o see her overcome that. Conors days are numbered and he knows it. However I think Deana is in danger of latching on to the public sympathy that she obviously has over her treatment by Conor and Arron. She has now rounded on Shievonne (although I'm not a fan) and is now accusing Lauren etc of not sticking up for her in the arguement. As yet I have not seen any of the housemates join in and support anyone in a verbal exchange.

If she is not careful it will backfire....cos I am starting to see right through her.

Personally i find her very dignified and she doesn't sink to the level of her opponents, and i think that's what has saved her thus far. She is a classy broad and i doubt that will change.

I think it's interesting for me as American to see Indians on BB, and notice how much more sophisticated they are compared to the "british" girls they argue with. I know that sounds a bit racist to say, but it is something i've noticed, i think Indian girls on this show do come accross as way more classy than the british girls they argue with.

again i'm only judging based on BB, so i'm not making any statement beyond BB, just what i've seen on BB.

Indian girls just seem so elegant to me.

Invest in a Virgin atlantic ticket to the Midlands UK for 7 days. Your opinion may change somewhat. Asian girls are never nasty or vendictive in real life. They are brought up to undermine their enemies with empathy and philosophies that date back to the Raj. Deana is a mixture of both and carries it off well.

My eldest son dated an asian girl years ago and we all thought they were going to get married. When he broke it off, she destroyed him with her tongue. He said it was like 2 different people.

theres no such thing as overplaying the victim card, remember denisse welch?

joeysteele 10-07-2012 11:41 PM

3 weeks ago, I never believed I would be saying this but I think Deana is incredible, she stands her ground and she has really upped the game since winning on friday.
Far from playing the victim,I think she is now really going at it all now with confidence.
Keep going as she is and she will have managed to create the right balance completely.

Tonight for instance with Shievonne,Shievonne was left just looking ridiculous while Deana just shone. I have to give her massive credit for that.

elliebrew 10-07-2012 11:43 PM

SO SO SO SICK of the same thing every day

Its ABSOLUTE crap.....shes popular with me because she's feisty, fun, soft, kind, articulate, isn't afraid to confront issues!

I have no pity for her whatsoever only admiration for her strength

lostalex 10-07-2012 11:47 PM

I really like her too. I think this is the first season of BB that i actually agree with the general consensus lol, Usually i'm like WTF are peiple smoking? how can they like Aaron or Jay or Louise?? But this season it seems i'm on the same page as everyone else around here. It's nice :)

JamesBond 10-07-2012 11:48 PM

She tried to stand up for herself but Shievonne was just too aggressive. I think after the boys picking on her and now crazy hands Shievonne having a go, it has just got too much for her.

armand.kay 10-07-2012 11:52 PM

Well considering Shievonn was playing mind games with her I can understand why she questioned lauren.

Thats completely true! She was clearly trying to maipulate her and unfortuantely Deana was beliveing her!

Jords 11-07-2012 12:57 AM

She cant play a victim card if she IS a victim of being singled out. I dont think she plays up to it at all though, she cracks on and destroys anybody that has an issue with her elegance.

DoM-h 11-07-2012 01:16 AM

Yeah I reckon she's peaked too early as a housemate and her being a victim is going to eventually back fire, not in a huge way but just in a way to lose her a few votes in the final. I think Adam will nick it. He's a lot less irritable than Deana is, he doesn't moan as much and doesn't have the whiny voice.

This.

rinkydinkpanther 11-07-2012 03:00 AM

shes done ok fair play, but she needs to do more than simply encourage others to criticize her in order that she can milk more sympathy...i do like her though, i like her naughty smile and i also agree she destroyed the awful shiv just as she destroyed arron and connor...

wendywillow 11-07-2012 08:01 AM

not much deana can do when a crazed shiev is railing at her, one of the keys with bb is to NOT lose your s*** when you get nommed, sheiv just followed arron out the door with this display

The public loves a victim clearly. Shilpa, Denise! :bored:

thesheriff443 11-07-2012 08:13 AM

she is a great housemate and has been fighting from the first night they all know she can win and her so called friends in the house wont back her up in case the they get put in the fireing line as to backing someone up that has come from the inside gang when a member is having a go useally at deana they ask one another to back them to make thier point.

deana is not makeing her self a victim she has been targeted from the start and as for adam he is ok but he is a perv and all the girls dont like to hug him even tho lauren is useing him as comfort blanket .

Yayita 11-07-2012 08:24 AM

She has been the victim of alot of abussive comments and actions done against her. There is a man in there whos sole purpose is to evict her, malign her and ruin her reputation and tries to manipulate others to do this for him. However, she has not behaved like a victim at all! She stands her ground, speaks her mind, follows her own rythm and nobody elses, fights clean and does it all while maintaining her composure and grace.

Simply put, she is a lady and until I see her change into something else, I will continue to support her.

smeagol 11-07-2012 08:24 AM

a victim is a victim you dont set out to be one you either are or you are not. you'd have to be blind to not see she has been victimised by some of thosevile creatures.
she doesn't play any card. she could of had conor removed if she truely wanted to play it. she could of claimed bullying like lauren and had arron etc out far sooner if she chose too.
instead she has stood strong tried to join in and not let it get to her. thats a brave woman. she has acted with dignity against all odds.
to play the sympathy card she would be crying non stop telling bb and evryone shes being bullied etc etc. the only times ive seen her say anything similar is when she is talking about why conor hates her as she doesn't understand his reasons. either do i he called her a asshole on the dance night for no reason and hasn't stopped. he has never spoke to her.
i wonder if people are watching all this show soemtimes or just watchin clips and making assumptions lol

For some reason all throughout history, people have always blamed and atacked the victim because it is easier than standing up to the real problem.

Gaynor186 11-07-2012 08:31 AM

She is a lady and I like her, but has such insecurity problems she is easily swayed. The 'outsiders' have ALWAYS welcomed her; have never said anything derogatory about her......yet now she's considering turning her back on them because of Shiv.......that's soooo disloyal......and ugly!!

i think its crazy. ive never seen anyone put up with what she has and not walk or be crying non stop or angry or something more. she handles it amazingly and gets called playing the sympathy card. its just mind boggerling to me hat people can say it.
i wouldn't blame her if she did. everyone of the others would thats for sure they wouldnt of lasted 5 minutes.poor arron tried to play it as being bullied after adam pranked him lol funny that was
