Transphobic comment on BOTS

I'm sorry but if an audience member made a racist comment they'd be kicked out and sent home immediately. How can a comment towards Luke A be brushed off as "oh dont be rude"... GRRRR!

Jase. 16-07-2012 09:24 PM

What was said?!

Beverley 16-07-2012 09:25 PM

I wonder if the woman who said it will still be in the audience after the break. She should be ashamed of herself!

lostalex 16-07-2012 09:25 PM

umm, if yur gonna make a thread about it, at least tell us what the comment was.

What was the transphobic comment?

jackc1806 16-07-2012 09:26 PM

I'm sure this will get BB into more ****. If people complain about the ret***s comment from Slick, they'll complain about this

Binstig 16-07-2012 09:26 PM

Sorry, I should have quoted. I cant remember exactly but the woman was talking about how she didnt like Luke A (fair enough) then said something along the lines of "boy, girls whatever he is"..

MTVN 16-07-2012 09:27 PM

What was it, I didn't hear?

Munchkins 16-07-2012 09:27 PM

What a silly silly woman
referring to Luke A as boy/girl :l

fruit_cake 16-07-2012 09:27 PM

she was talking about Luke A and said, something unpleasant about him and then referred to him as boy....girl

A woman in the audience was giving her view regarding Luke A and said something along the lines of "he, she, whatever it is". She was then cut off by Emma Wills who told her there was no need to be so personal and cruel.

jackc1806 16-07-2012 09:28 PM

He acts like the good little boy girl whatever. Emma said no need to get personal or rude and the audience were shocked

MTVN 16-07-2012 09:29 PM

What a bitch

lostalex 16-07-2012 09:29 PM

if she called him "it" then that's definitely transphobic.

billy123 16-07-2012 09:29 PM

I wish people would give it up with this faux sense of outrage its getting boring now.
Its a live adult show aimed at an adult audience they cant control every word that comes out of peoples mouths.

Gstar 16-07-2012 09:30 PM

I don't think that she was being deliberately transphobic though.

Patrick 16-07-2012 09:34 PM

Was a pathetic attempt at trying to be funny.

really? so it's okay to be discriminatory as long as it's just amongst adults? i'd love to know how you justify that logic...

It's not "faux" outrage, i'm pretty sure it's real outrage when someone is chipping away at someone else's humanity in that way.

I guess it's perfectly fine to humiliate and degrade someone, as long as it's just adults?

that sounds pretty silly, don't you think?

Faux sense of outrage? I'm sorry but I shall reiterate what I have said already. If a racist comment was made the situation would have been treated VERY differently and they would no doubt have acted on this.

I campaign very heavily on these issues in my life and I'm not going to let this pass by and excuse it just because the show is aimed at "an adult audience". Does that excuse violence, homophobia, sexism and racism then?

Oh she was, she knew exactly what she was saying.

billy123 16-07-2012 09:40 PM

Ive never been so offended that my first thought is to try and drum up some more faux outrage on a forum.
Nobody said it was ok ffs somebody said something offhand and was put in their place and told not to be rude theres no need for people to piss their pants with outrage at every opportunity.

Black Dagger 16-07-2012 09:41 PM

She was clearly trying to be 'funny' and thought the audience would be all 'haha ofc he still has a vagina lool xxx' and it clearly didn't work, doubt she'll be back.

But yeah, definitely transphobic.

no one here is "pissing their pants", and to be fair, you sound more outraged than any of the other posts i've read here. So who is outraged? and why are you so outraged over people standing up for an historically discriminated group? Do you deny the history of discrimination? do you deny the prevalence of discrimination against trans people?

Saw it, was a really awkward moment.

She was talking about how sly and boring he was, and said something along the lines of "he's just a very boring man... or woman..." and then made this "HAHA WHO KNOWS?" face.

Emma very quickly and coolly reprimanded her and moved away though ("Can we not resort to childish and immature comments?" I believe was her line)
