Deana and Conor

If Deana had never nominated Conor on the first night, do you think their relationship and the house dynamics would be different?

Jords 18-07-2012 02:25 PM

Most probably.

JamesBond 18-07-2012 02:26 PM

Yes.

Niamh. 18-07-2012 02:27 PM

Without a doubt.

MTVN 18-07-2012 02:27 PM

Maybe, that definitely got them off the wrong foot but it's not the only reason he dislikes her, at the time I'd say he actually took it a lot better than Victoria and Lydia

jemlou29 18-07-2012 02:28 PM

Yes i think so. he is such a proud person he will turn on anyone that shows thier dislike to him and wont even give them a second chance.I think if he gave deana a chance then decide then maybe people will warm to him better.

Black Dagger 18-07-2012 02:30 PM

That is the only reason he has a grudge with her, because she dared nominate him and his ego took a bruising.

BigBrotherfan4ever 18-07-2012 02:31 PM

Not to start with, but do think Deana wouldn't have liked Conor, I think she feel she is better than him tbh, I'm not saying like Conor(far from it, cant stand him) but i do think Deana looks down her nose at Conor.

smeagol 18-07-2012 02:33 PM

i think its pretty obvious he doesn't like indian people. nothing to do with nominating him just added to his already inbred hatred

Nat123 18-07-2012 02:37 PM

I think of he had of just made and effort and not had that chip on his shoulder it would have been different for him, also I think she is stand offish and can't just let her hair down in case she looks foolish. I'm not really a fan of either of them just was curious to know some other opinions :)

No, I don't think that about him, said it before, he's not made any remarks or given indication that is the case, and I watch every episode. He just can't stand her (probably because of the first week) and he's nasty with it but I don't like the racism card being constantly waved, people are far to quick to jump on that particular bandwagon these days. I've seen instances of people being accused of racism with no concrete evidence to back it, it's insane. Plus I dislike Conor a lot, lol, so it goes against the grain to negate anything against him, but this I must say is an unfounded accusation (imo).

I agree I don't think he is slightly racist, but I can see where Smeagol might think that. I think it might just be how she conducts herself as she never really rants and raves as she always enters an argument quite calmly which I think is to do with her culture which I think might unerve (sp) Conor?

I get this feeling too. I feel like it started of with the opening night nom but it's progressed into something more sinister since.

rayheartbliss 18-07-2012 02:56 PM

i personally don't think its about that, neither is racism

conor is used to getting his way and is quite possibly very popular everywhere he goes on the outside, then there comes along Deana who is someone that can stand her ground and if she sees someone who is nasty, she won't put up with them.....

i think conor can see this quality in Deana, and he knows that she is someone who he cannot take control of, and as long as she is in there he won't be able to get things his way, therefore he sees her as a clear target.

on the outside no one has probably ever faced him and told him how dark his heart is.
And most probably no one on the outside has ever had the chance to do that because most likely he has succeeded in what he is trying to do to Deana, and as a popular character people (ignorant girls/gays/woman) who'd side with him.

there is no doubt in my mind, that only a bully would do such things.....
i've seen it happen to people before, in school and such back then (only now i wish i'd stood up for them)

you could only imagine how many people conor has treated in such ways, and got away with it.

epilator? "punch her in the face" ?
imagine what else he would say when theres no cameras around.

There's no reason for him hating her except a silly mom where she had no choice. and he refuses to say. so im pretty sure its that i know his type .
no big deal you dont have to like every country people come from. but i think thats got alot to do with it.

InOne 18-07-2012 03:01 PM

Hmm maybe. I don't think Lydia ever really got over it either, she never really trusted Deana after that. It would be annoying to be put up on the first night, it would be hard for me to shake off a grudge after that as well.

Gillian-73 18-07-2012 03:23 PM

Yes because other than that initial nomination i can't see any other reason for his dislike of her.

fruit_cake 18-07-2012 03:31 PM

maybe it's because she makes him feel stupid all the time? Like when she said how do you know I'm two faced when you've never spoke to me? Conor was made to be a fool and he thinks he's the clever one.

It would be normal in that case that he's carried on hating her.

That's true but the difference being, Lydia and Victoria had it out with her, so got any feelings they had off their chest. Conor on the other hand never said anything to her about it, and I think just held a major grudge about it

I guess he might have thought from that point on he couldn't trust her, I think there are legitimate reasons as to why he might dislike her apart from that first day nom but maybe it did mean that a lot of things she did after then seemed worse in his eyes because of it

joeysteele 18-07-2012 04:46 PM

I think it very likely things may have been better as to them.
I think he took on board not so much being nominated by her but why was he the only guy she did choose.
Had she chosen 2 guys and one female,it may have been less of an issue.
First impressions do matter and his of Deana was that of all the guys, he was the only one she put up from her first impression of him, so he has taken that likely very personally.

To be fair to her though on that and I have always said this, she was put in a very difficult position on that first night. With more time, say untill the next morning at least, her choices may have been very different.
I would also have had her choose 4 to be up to give her the chance too of choosing 2 male and 2 female housemates if she wished to do so.
