which tells you the Points you could have had.

1 .Feck your Points - Stick Em' up Your ass

No it isn't.
Of course you need a reciept...I insist on one!
I always check it too before I leave the supermarket, unless you are able to mentally calculate everything you buy why would you hand over your hard earned money without checking the total is correct?
Its also proof of purchase, the store should insist you have one to be fair.
It would be very embarrassing if the door alarm sounded and you had no reciept?
How would you get your faulty/off goods replaced if you didn't have one?...

GiRTh 26-07-2012 10:37 AM

 Do you tell them to stick the points up their ar*e?

Vicky. 26-07-2012 10:46 AM

I dont think it matters, it would annoy me if I had to keep saying I wanted a reciept.

Much like when I go to morrissons ir pisses me off when they ask 9while you have £100 worth of shopping on the belt) if I want bags. of course i want ****ing bags. Im not gunna sprout 25 arms and carry it all like that am I? :bored:

I like that tescos tells me how much points I got with my purchase, and I keep all my receipts for ages.

They also ask if you need bags when you have just spent a small fortune in the store though which is annoying, when you say yes the cashier gives you the evil eye and hands over 2 crap quality bags :bored:

OMG yes this too.

Because 2 bags will hold a whole trolley full of shopping easily wont they :bored:

Then you say can you have some more and they glare again and pretty much throw them at you

the entire problem with our economy is we allowed these enormous greedy lazy complacent inflexible often outdated organizations to become huge unregulated monopolies....tesco is useless....any ideas are binned because if one store has to utilise the idea, so too do all uk esco stores, what utter madness

bring back better regulation for massive companies, government should demand specifically within these regulations to need to comply with a load of targets including emissions and waste, theunions should be strengthened too and these corporate giants should have to be inspected more often and be forced to meet all sorts of targets....the amount of land they waste is also a disgrace and should go back to public ownership

also the monopolies commission needs to grow a pair of b a l l s and do what its meant to do, prevent uncompetitive monoplies that do nothing but corner the markets , creating cartels and price fixing....such as the disgusting fact these retailers are forcing farmers to sell them milk at a loss

always always back your small to medium sized business
the type of business that supplies a unique friendly honest flexible necessary service within your community at a fair price...the types of people you actually get to speak to and to share ideas with.....rememer why david beat goliath, he was quicker smaller and could change direction, giants always fall

i bookmarked this thread coz im going to bed now and im too tired to read it

but i hate them for what they done to you arista

It's funny over here because you have to pay 22c for a plain old plastic bag, no one finds it weird if you don't get asked if you want a bag, though people nearly always bring their own. And with the receipt thing, you kind of need it, proof of purchase and all that. Plus if you want to keep track of your expenses.

Don't blame the staff, blame their policies.

I work for Tesco and we just had new training for tills and we have a set script that we have to stick to, and you must do this because every store and a mystery shopper at least once a week so you don't know who you're serving.

If its the first customer of the queue, you have to say 'hello' not 'hi' or anything else, just hello. Then it's, would you like a hand to pack yor bags, and do you have any bags of your own. If they have their own bags, them we tell the customer we will add greenpoints on, and must scan their club card as well. Once you've scanned everything, you then have to ask the customer if they want luggage coupons (or whatever the current promotion is) but only if is of £20 value. Obviously total everything up and once paid you must say thank you very much, is there anything else I can help you with today?.... And goodbye. But we're told every customer must be given their receipt. There is more but I can't be bothered to type it all haha, but that gives you the idea of why staff can sometimes be so unhelpful lol
