I've been rewatching the whole new series on Netflix, strangely enough I reached this episode today (I've now reached Doomsday)

The BBC have removed this episode from iPlayer because Huw Edwards is in it.

Made me think of this thread.

it's weird, they completely gloss over things that i would have thought were important and then completely over react and delete an episode where he appeared for seconds.

I wonder if they will delete his announcing of the queens death, which is way more prominent

It's laziness as much as anything else, why remove the whole episode and not just cut the scene.

If you YouTube Peter Kay's Amarillo music video....Saville is still there flapping about like a demented tramp , remember when BBC ' mistakenly ' showed a tweenies episode with him aswell. So there's no consistency :idc:.

I heard this morning they might revoice it, but he covered both funerals didn't plus probably all recent weddings so not sure how that will pan out, it will cost them as well because they can no longer sell footage abroad, he also leaves with a 300K per annum pension, I guess he can do without the winter fuel allowance.

How about leave the episode unedited?

Add a warning to the beginning? "Caution: This episode may contain scenes of a high-profile BBC paedophile."

Question is where do we draw the line with this type of stuff ? , like I said Savile's ugly mug is still out there for people to view . Edwards was the main correspondent of covering the Queen's death ,what they going to do about that archive footage? . I'm not exactly thrilled to see paedo's or any other vile people on my screen...but censorship can be a slippery slope.

I was watching a classic Emmerdale episode today, and that bitch Roxanne Pallet was in it . Which wasn't a pleasant viewing, but then we can't edit out the past ? . I agree that anyone who has done gross things shouldn't be given a platform anymore though. But I can also understand why people would refuse to watch something with a vile human being in it.
