Slightly racist twitter account?

Found this on a DS thread

Quote:

Just looking through her twitter account: http://twitter.com/Sara_McLeanx and on March 12th she retweeted something that was racist and then five days later on March 17th she decided to go one better by saying, I quote:

"what is this world coming to?! trends about black people? don't people have anything better to tweet about. ugh"

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Is anyone not racist these days? :nono::nono::joker:

Really depends on what the 'trending' subject was at the time IMO.

She could simply mean why are people singling out black people for whatever reason, or it could be the other way.

Only if you are a white person in UK who is less likely to experience racism. Was called a n*gger last week just for walking down the street.

AshesonMars 30-07-2012 02:59 PM

That's not enough to go on to accuse her of being racist. Her tweet could very well be in reference to a trending topic that was racist.

I go on Twitter and there are always racist trending topics on there. Sometimes these topics aren't intended as being racist, but they get hijacked by racists.

Seems like there's always a #thingsblackpeopledo #thingswhitepeopledo etc., trending topics and they always turn nasty.

She was probably just talking about that.

Doesn't surprise me that the DS loons have jumped on the racist bandwagon though.

good point, and also as pointed out above^ it was highly likely the tweets were negative and that's why Sara was annoyed.

I discovered a former colleague hated Southern Asian people.

I'm sorry you're subjected to that, nobody should ever have to be. But, you then go on to post a tweet out of context claiming racism!

Jords 30-07-2012 03:02 PM

Its probably about them ****ty trends like

#whatablackwomanwouldsay

alex_front2 30-07-2012 03:02 PM

Give her benefit of doubt, Sara needs to be extremely careful how she writes her tweets.

This! I've seen them myself plenty of times.

Mystic Mock 30-07-2012 03:04 PM

Im shocked, but she also said on May 31st that the Queen does **** all.

Vicky. 30-07-2012 03:05 PM

IMO people crying racism at the slightest opportunity trivialises real racism that goes on in the world. Same as those who scream bully as soon as something negative is said about someone.

Mystic Mock 30-07-2012 03:06 PM

Sara also tweeted that her Sister is racist.

Im sorry Sara fans but I think it's not a coincidence.

In a tweet?

I CBA looking back through her whole account but if she said this then that kinda proves her whole 'god save the queen' thing is only an act. As Im sure she broke down in tears a while back because someone said that the queen did nothing?
