Appalling... wonder what the motivation was for this? Seems racially motivated..

In America
that will Never happen,

Tom4784 05-08-2012 09:32 PM

America's in desperate need of more strict gun control, the second amendment is an outdated pile of **** that needs to be looked at. It's allowed for the loss of more innocent lives then it's saved.

How many more lives is it going to take for the government to man the **** up and do something about it?

It's. not. that. simple.

The only thing the US could do would be require psychological tests for anyone that wants a gun along with Background Tests.

If any type of guns were banned then we would see another civil war between the north and the south.

This for sure has to be a hate crime.

That would be enough.

Although I do wonder why so many types of guns are legal to buy in America. I could understand weapons like rifles and shotguns for hunting and sport and I can understand handguns for self defense, although I disagree with that sentiment completely since you're more likely to shoot a family member or a friend then you are someone that means you harm, but I do not understand the need for automatic or military grade weapons.

Limit the more extreme weapons and make the applications for gun use more rigorous so that only the most responsible people can get their hands on them.

Less uproar because it was a Sikh place. I'm not going to lie, I felt more for the Batman thing, pretty passive to this. I'm horrid.

lostalex 06-08-2012 01:29 AM

CNN is saying this guy was a neo-nazi skin head. Sounds like the same type of guy in the Norway killings.

Well the Batman thing happened at a movie theater, where everyone goes, so it had more of a feeling of "this could happen to anyone" just senseless random violence. I think we feel more comfortable with killings that seem to have a political motivation, cause atleast you can make sense of it and you can understand what the person was thinking.

When it's just completely senseless with no real motivation it's much scarier and more disturbing i think.

lostalex 06-08-2012 02:21 AM

And i'd also just like to say, it's pathetic that once again people seize on a tragedy like this to further their own political agendas. The blood hasn't even run cold before some people try to twist it for their own purposes.

it's actually completely different. There are no similarities between this and the Batman killings at all.

God no, there were no guns used were there? Cop on. Gun crime/killing sprees are rampant in the US, it's disgusting.

actually they are very rare.

you are more likely to be struck by lightening than be killed in this type of attack in the US.

Perhaps we should also make a law against lightening.

Get a grip, it's quite obvious that this type of thing is rampant in america because of relaxed gun laws.

it's not rampant in America. sorry but you are just wrong.

I hate to tell you, but just cause when it happens in America and it's front page news, doesn't mean it's rampant. It's actually happening everywhere in the world, it only makes front page news when it happens in America though. We're special like that :)

Multiple victim shootings hapen just as much in Europe. but it doesn't get classified as a EUROPEAN thing, because each country is treated individually in Europe, but when it happens in the US, it's called American, instead of focusing on the individual state. And the english language media doesn't focus as much on non-english speaking countries.
