Luke Anderson branded 'worst Big Brother winner since Rachel Rice'
 

Luke Anderson has won Big Brother 2012, but some fans of the programme are less than impressed with their new victor.

Luke, who was announced as the winner of Big Brother by Brian Dowling on Channel 5 tonight, exited the famous house £50,000 richer after taking home this year's prize money.

But it seems some viewers at home were less impressed with the new Big Brother champion, with one dubbing him 'the most boring winner since Rachel Rice' on Twitter.

Rice, who won the reality show when it was in its ninth series and airing on Channel 4, is widely accepted by Big Brother fans to be one of the least controversial and more tame of the show's victors.

And with similar traits to Rachel, it seems Luke is also destined to fade into obscurity after beating fellow housemate Adam Kelly into second place in tonight's live final.

Another Big Brother fan wrote of Luke: 'such a boring housemate, who the hell voted for him?? #bbukfinal'.

But clearly, the newly crowned Big Brother champion has his admirers, with one fan tweeting: 'So much love for Adam - youth-worker, a wise, wise man and a solid friend. Hilarious to boot. Grade 'A' housemate.'

'It's great to feel acceptance,' Luke told Brian Dowling of his win. 'I don't think it's sunk in yet. A big part of it was about acceptance. All my life I've been an outsider. Thank you so much.'

Luke, who was closely allied to Deana Uppal and Adam, found himself in the final three with the pair of housemates after the trio proved the most popular with viewers.

Deana, who came third overall, was booed as she left the house, but Adam and Luke both emerged to cheers and a warm greeting from their families.

Luke said of the house divide: 'It was pretty traumatic when it was at its worst. You did feel alone in the house and that's how [Deana, Adam and I] found each other. Without Adam and Deana I would have been alone all the time.'

Luke's victory brings to an end the 2012 series of Big Brother, which saw numerous controversies and scandals, many of which revolved around racism and bullying rows.

Channel 5 is set to launch this year's second series of Celebrity Big Brother on Wednesday, with Martin Kemp, Samantha Brick and Cheryl Fergison rumoured to be entering the house.

Must be representative of the nation and phenomenal journalism if their source for a main quote is some guy on twitter! Drivel. Anyone who thinks Luke A shouldn't have won should suggest an alternative and see what others have to say. only lauren. adam and deana would have been worthy contenders.

Let's be real when we look back at memorable past BB winners Luke A won't won't spring to mind. Decent guy, but entertaining?? BB13 was and always will be remembered as the Deana Show to me much as BB12 was the Aaron Show.

I suppose you can basically make a story out of anything these days. Anyone, it seems, can be quoted and a headline is born...

He did more than Sophie for sure. Definitely not the most deserving winner of the whole cast but then those that were left really early, out of the finalists him or Deana deserved it the most.

Basically, people will always vote for a decent person. Folk on here keep talking about entertaining. If I wanted entertainers, I'd watch a professional. This is a reality show and people want real down to earth folk they can relate to.

Not for me, the best final three ever and my favourite winner of all time :D.

They take people on Twitter as representative of the feelings about Luke A's win? TWITTER - the place where Deana fans swarmed the place and insulted and lambasted anyone who didn't think she was worthy? As if those quotes didn't come from Deana fans. :rolleyes:

To be honest he wasn't in the top of the most entertaining HM's this year.

Decent people vote for decent winners last year was just a freak result thrown up by the advent of 7p facebook votes.
This year the horrid chavvy housemates were defeated and long may that last.
The entire final this year was a moral success.

To be honest i didn't want him to win at all but there is no point in me being bitter about it. In many ways the guy deserved to win it, i would have preferred Adam but hey.

When it got to the point where him and Adam were the last two. And I wanted Adam to win because of all the cool moments he has had - where as Luke had none, infact thinking back now he actually was the most boring housemate.

But yes.. then I remembered Luke's BMI Comment, so I decided if he won I'd be glad just because he deserves it for what he said to that whale.
