What changes would you make to big brother?

How would you change Big Brother?

SSL2012 14-08-2012 11:13 AM

I take that as good news, surely 5 and endemol must see they need to
re-vamp it properly. 2 more series to get it right, Normal BB can push for 2million viewers, five/endemol only seem to put 50% in.

Live feed
A Nastier and More strict/firm Big Brother
Perhaps change the dynamics of the house to two floors or something
PROPER cross channel advertising
Regular Slot times
More White Room type twists
More eccentric.wider age range/ housemates. With the eccentric type, i'm thinking like chubby chris but not as annoying to some extent, but equally as hilarious.
Better Main Presenter, although i've found Brian's improved alot in recent weeks.

Certain there's more aswell.

If the show launches with pretty much 3million, then there's the point of intrest. To then lose pretty much 50% of that audience is terrible. But it does at least show that there is still a good appetite in the show, but five and endemol cannot keep it...

A good break of a year and less series crammed into 12months will do the show alot of good too. I see no reason why bb cannot get 2mil if they change the format, and make the correct changes.

Stricter BB, more variance in the HM’s, less alcohol and take aways been handed to them – make them work for their food. Stop giving away half the prize money. Change the live audiences attitude, less of the booing. Make the show more “prime time” with a less biased nature. Remember BBLB? Drop some of the bitchy BOTS panel guests…

And that is just for starters.

kefln 14-08-2012 11:23 AM

Push the show for what its meant to be, not for the "Jersey Shore" audience.

X number of people locked in a house, away from outside influence, performing for their comforts, punished for their miss-behaviour.

BigBrotherfan4ever 14-08-2012 11:28 AM

Bring back LF
No outside contact
Announce warnings to all HM's
Vote to evict
Wider age range

susie q 14-08-2012 11:37 AM

why not make them earn the prize money. Say week one they start at Zero, and £10,000 if they pass the task, then the same amount of money each week if they pass the tasks.

Jords 14-08-2012 12:00 PM

Lots of good suggestions.

Kizzy 14-08-2012 12:04 PM

Bring back Live Feed
No outside contact at all
Impartial, non-partisan edit
Announce warnings to all housemates
Vote to evict
Better BOTS panelists
Wider age range

Jords 14-08-2012 12:07 PM

Vote to Evict is such an awful idea :o

Vote to Save prolongs the characters! Dont understand how people dont see this.. unless theyre just angry that Conor survived his evictions but really he was more interesting than Arron..

karezza 14-08-2012 12:56 PM

All finalists should be rewarded:

Winner - £100,000
Runner-up - £50,000
Third - £25,000
Fourth - £15,000
Fifth - £10,000

Hmmm I dont know about that, although it would be nice.

I would like the winner to get £100K and the runner-up £25K

Wait longer before 1st eviction
Bring back live feed
No outside contact
Impartial edit
Wider age range

I'd also give the viewers more time to see the hosuemates getting their photo taken/interacting with the crowd after their eviction and I wish the interviews weren't always so rushed. They seemed much better on Ch4.

I also realise that Ch5 don't have a huge budget but the house needs a bit of a revamp to keep it fresh and new.

And stop giving away half of the prize money!!!
And stop showing the housemates names on the screen every time they appear. I think by Week 10 we know who they are.

I agree with you longer interviews, & intacting with crowd, I felt lastnight was just so so rushed more so than last year, it did spoil the enjoyment of the final for me if I'm honest.

How would I change BB?

1. Get it back onto CH4
2. Get Davina back and confine Brian Dowling to an uninhabited island.
3. Bring back BBLB and confine all concerned with BBOTS to Hades.

Three easy steps to perfection!

Marc 14-08-2012 03:05 PM

By stopping it all together

Marcus. 14-08-2012 03:06 PM

more older housemates

susie q 14-08-2012 10:37 PM

more diabled housemates such a Mikey from bb10, Steve bb11.
They should also definitely show housemate warnings to the other housemates.

Redvines 15-08-2012 02:53 AM

If you talk about nominations:

1 you lose the right to nominate
2 you are automatically up for eviction

Bruvfan 15-08-2012 03:33 AM

The whole cast should be comprised of chain smokers. Anyone talks about nominations once and no more cigarettes for anyone.

But seriously I think there should be a clear and graduated punishment system for rule breaks. For example:

1st rule break = Your nominations get voided
2nd rule break = Automatically nominated for eviction + your nominations get voided
3rd rule break = Immediately expulsion, called discreetly to the diary room, no goodbyes, not BOTS, no wrap party, nothing. A new housemate takes your place.

They really need to make an example out of someone, turning off the hot water for a day is not going to deter them from talking about nominations.

ozzyshaggah 15-08-2012 08:05 AM

^ some very good suggestion above - so they will all be ignored :bawling:

also
get rid of gay producers
get rid of emma - her expiry date has arrived
get rid of brian - as above
get rid of jamie east - where the hell did they find him
get rid of alice - seriously :yuk:
get rid of bbbots - really what a complete waste of time - rotating trained seals from rent-a-crowd

what they need is more air time for us fans to see who is worth picking up the phone to vote for :xyxwave:

Jimrod 15-08-2012 08:18 AM

100% of prize money to the actual, voted for winner.

Complete revamp of after show - no-one likes puppets from 20+ years ago, talk about the programme openly and fairly, fire both Jamie's (East and Producer), no need for "funny" sketches that most just cringe at.

Choose housemates based on entertainment value rather than the need to cover every ethnicity and sexual preference.

Stop interfering and steering tasks (ie - white room selection process).

No talking about nominations, do and you're up - if you reply with "I literally don't give a **** like 100% totally" you're instantly ejected through the roof.

Lostie! 15-08-2012 08:26 AM

I also vote for:

- End of series best bits and final day highlights show.

RtooDee2 15-08-2012 09:10 AM

Bringing back LF is a must, without it...its not BigBrother.

Wider age range with some actual intelligent people (not Einstein) but who can string a sentence together without swearing.

STOP with the cliché housemates! i.e. Fat bubbly ones, screaming Queens, pretty but thick models (male and female).

The voice of BB should be just one voice (make it authoritative and sinister) Nothing worse than a kind female voice in the DR, when giving someone a warning. It doesn't carry any weight.

Prize money not to be tampered with. Winner takes all!

First week, no eviction or noms. I want to see them more before i vote. Reading out in order, who has the most votes to save on eviction night is just dumb. No friends and family noms EVER! No letters either.

...and BOTS? Whats with that stupid long thin microphone they keep shoving into the audience members faces? With Emma just about balancing on high heels, one day she will take someone's eye out. oh and NO MORE SONIA! I know its a cheap show and can only afford Z list celebrities but it would be better with only ex HMs and them body language/psychologist people on the panel.

Bruvfan 15-08-2012 05:49 PM

Less talk about nominations. Despite them re-banning the talk of nominations this year production still instigated the housemates by brining up nominations talk constantly.

- Luke S' "Nominations Revealed" temptation in the 100 task
- Lydia's gunging task to find out if people nominated her in the 100 task
- Face to face nominations
- Broadcasting family nominations into the house (twist shouldn't have existed to start with, but it should have been done in private. They should have just revealed the results without explanation)
- The nommy awards spilling all sorts of nomination details into the house, even though nominations were over by then
- Allowing them to talk about nominations again during the final week.

Nominations talk and reveals should only be done once a housemate is evicted. Nominations should strictly be each housemate going to the diary room once a week and nominating two people for eviction. Done. Not bells and whistles. No third parties, no handing out immunities, no randomly revoking someone's right to nominate, no doing it face to face. And never ever ever again should one person nominate on behalf of the entire house in C5's four series of Big Brother it has been present in three series on four occasions, Kerry Katona, Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff, Georgia Salpa, Deana. With Celebrity Big Brother likely wanting to do an eviction on Friday I would bet money that the first housemate to enter tonight will be the only one to nominate for the first eviction. It is not and will never be a brilliant twist, despite tweets that digital will highlight on BOTS, speaking of which...

BOTS may as well have been call Big Brother's Propaganda Hour towards the end of the series. Using the sweat box to try and convince us that people actually liked face to face nominations, family nominating and the white room twists. Also trying to convince us that there was no clear winner the whole series. It was pretty damn obvious by week 5 that an outsider would win the game, I wouldn't have been able to give you a name, but I could tell you 3/4 of the house didn't have a shot in hell.

Diatom 16-08-2012 06:50 PM

Would love for BB too be more a little more strict and come up with funny, creative punishments like the Aussie one.
Could be very interesting..
