I really don't understand what the hell the producers were thinking of getting the awful Emma to mention the gang that Adam was allegedly a member of.

He was understandably shocked. Emma just waffled about it being in the "script". You mean there is a script for this dreadful show?

I don't normally assault my senses by watching BBOTS as it is so cringe-making, I only watched because it was the final, and TBH, I wish I hadn't bothered.

I don't see the big deal, he hasn't really made a secret of it himself?

Anyone who doesn’t understand how serious that was, doesn’t understand how serious his situation was, or could be, by mentioning an association with a certain gang.

People have been killed for gang association, by rivals and by those within their own organisation. And if it’s the case that he wasn’t involved with that gang, he could be killed for claiming he was.

Then there is the notion of revenge. Someone who has been wronged by that group in the past might see him as an easy target…

The trouble that could happen from that one statement is endless.

well let's just hope the Dudley bloods don't get to him.

Except he's already gone on about it in his VT how he was in a gang and saying "have you heard about the bloods and the crips" and he was often wearing the blue crip colours in there.. I'm sure a brief throwaway comment on BOTS about it won't do too much harm, not like he's still involved in any of it or even lives in the same country anymore

This... i didn't watch all of BOTS but im really shocked they did that - but then like MTVN said he did wear the colours of his gang.
BOTS should have took a Better safe than sorry approach, and just not mentioned it, there was no need to :)

You have heard of planes? Phones? The internet? Friends, relatives, contacts, crime syndicates?

There are vast differences between a guy saying that he was in jail and having a gang history, and actually naming the specific gang live on TV.

Nothing may come of it, or everything might come of it. Its very easy for a person sitting in front of their PC, a million miles from that kind of world, to dismiss the very real nature of violent criminals.

lol I'm sure Bloods or Crips aren't going to fly over from America because of a brief comment on a Big Brother spinoff show which only confirmed what everyone already knew and what Adam's made obvious anyway, he's done a bit more than "say he was in jail", he's said he was in a gang, made clear he was involved in the Bloods and the Crips and worn Crip colours numerous times

tbf Adam went on a TV show, getting his name and location about, so if something was to happen its his own fault for the exposure he gave himself, not some comment Emma made on a spin-off show.

But I think the only one qualified to discuss this is Adam. And he wasn't happy with it been so directly mentioned on BOTS. And that is whats important here, not the opinions of people who have never been in that world, or understand why he chose to move across the world to escape that life.

Adam has been banging on about his gang life for 10 weeks and his burglary exploits and firearms and etc etc etc

If Adam really didn't want any attention, he wouldn't have gone into the show at all. After him mentioning it in his own VT on launch night, I don't understand why he would get upset about it on a spin-off show on finale night. The time he said it had more than triple the viewing figures (I'm guessing.) No sympathy from me.

He NEVER mentioned being part of the crips while on the show itself. I don't think even Luke A knew. And yes, a gang would travel across the world to prove a point.

Thank you kefln and Tym - so glad other people understood why Adam was not happy about it.

But the fact is that Adam being in the Crips a decade ago has been obvious throughout this whole series and everyone has known about it, it isn't like Emma was revealing secret information or something nobody was aware of
