RIGGED PHONE CALLS - CBB bit on the side!!!

I am writing regarding an episode of 'Celebrity Big Brothers Bit On The Side' which was on television the evening of Saturday 18th August 2012. There is a segment in the show that takes live phone calls from members of the public. On Saturday, there were three phone calls and it was clear that not one of them was from any member of the public. It was clear to myself and others watching the show that these phone calls were rigged and were in fact actors or indeed members of the crew/production team. Even the people sitting at the 'phone desk' behind the presenter were clearly pretending to talk to people on the phone when there was in fact no one on the line! The first two phone calls requested that 'Jasmine' stay inside the house and not be voted out - clearly rigged to keep her in. After the calls were over the presenter encouraged everyone at home to keep phoning in with their views and opinions about CBB. It is outrageous to encourage the public to phone when there is no intention of actually taking any of their calls. The presenter was also clearly aware of this fiasco. In the light of recent controversies regarding phone calls from the public (Ant and Dec, the This Morning competition) one would think production companies would steer well away from this type of public con. The third phone call was from an individual who stated that Cheryl's face was like a 'slapped arse'. If this was from a member of the public then fair enough but again, it was clearly a huge set up. I don't think this soap celebrity would appreciate knowing that a member of the production team she is working for has set this up merely to sensationalise and keep viewers tuning in.

I encourage you to watch this particular episode, if possible. It is so obvious it is embarrassing. I believe this needs to be made public and put an end to. What else are they rigging and what's the bet that Jasmine does indeed stay in to keep up viewing figures?

It's a feature where Jamie shouts at and abuses callers, and where most of the callers are meant to be humorous. This isn't Question Time, if you're expecting high-brow televisual debate Bit On The Side really isn't the show for you.

I actually noticed there was something wrong with the segment. Some of the calls didn't sound genuine. Normally Jamie just shouts abuse at them. But this time it was different somehow. :suspect:

Its not rigged.

My mate Nicholas has called in in the past.

You are being utterly pathetic.

Rigged calls

Exactly, the presenter, Jamie, didn't react AT ALL to any of the callers because he was in on the set up!

I don't expect high brow TV from this show but I do expect not to be taken for a ride. You might not believe me and indeed think my comments 'ridiculous' but I encourage you to watch these three phone calls again. You will clearly see that they are set ups.

I just wanted to bring it to the attention of the public.

Normally he's just rude to the callers. But not this time. Something is up for sure. I think they're desperate for Jasmine to stay!

You are correct Vanessa.

I'm pleased someone else saw through this particular segment.

It's not serious stuff, it's a fun show but when they are lying in order to keep someone in, it's a more serious matter.

Plus, I'm not saying they do it every time. This time was definitely different.

I don't know. I just noticed the way Jamie reacted to the calls. It was very out of character.

Good for them they are trying to push for the best character to stay, finally this silly show has seen sense after favouring horrendous BMIBecks last series.

Rigged
in what way?
