I know they are ugly but shoes question?
 

I come across some shoes and sandal being advertised online for a cheap price. The shoes are made in China and India and a friend told are to be careful regarding the shoes as the nations sell bad quality products. Is this true and how do I determine quality?

if they are advertised as a major fashion label, then yes, you should be wary.
