Are you?

More confident on the Internet or in real life?

Munchkins 28-08-2012 07:47 PM

Internet definitely
im just an awkward person in real life

Ninastar 28-08-2012 07:48 PM

I think everyone is more confident on the internet?

Mystic Mock 28-08-2012 07:50 PM

I don't get why but I am more confident on the Internet, I find it strange because I never have the guts to say some of the stuff I say on here in real life.

That's what i was thinking haha
you don't have to worry on the internet..

Black Dagger 28-08-2012 07:51 PM

Of course I'm more confident on the internet.

Like I wouldn't be able to approach somebody in a bar to talk to them if I liked them.

Whereas on the Internet I'm all 'HAI.

LemonJam 28-08-2012 07:55 PM

Real life. I have no idea why but I find it harder to make conversation online.

reece(: 28-08-2012 08:39 PM

Internet but confident around friends too.

Legend killer 28-08-2012 09:27 PM

Im just as confident in both i am very comfortable in my own skin

Josy 28-08-2012 10:36 PM

Just the same for both really.

I do find it a little bit easier to talk to people offline though, like on here and some other interent sites I feel as if some people don't really get my humour, hmm maybe I am more confident offline after all

Withano 28-08-2012 10:38 PM

Unfortunately for me, real life

joeysteele 28-08-2012 11:11 PM

I am more careful online than off. I am aware that the written word can be taken many ways if you cannot hear how someone is actually saying something and the tone they are using as to it too.

Offline, I would show any anger,(that is rare), also though people would hear exactly how I was phrasing things and the tone I use so I have more confidence in face to face debate than written ones.
Online, I try very hard to hold back and also try my best to not have what I say taken as anger or getting at someone when I have no intention of saying things that way at the time.

Humour offline for instance is easily recognised as that, online it can be seen as humour but also as sarcasm too when it cannot be heard how it is said and really meant.

King Gizzard 28-08-2012 11:20 PM

Internet

That's why we're all on here all the time

I wouldn't say boo to a goose in real life

actually idk with me i dont think its a confidence thing i thinks its just that i hate people in general i would say i am more rude irl than shy/awkward

Ramsay 28-08-2012 11:22 PM

but i do that all the time nathan

Ramsay 28-08-2012 11:22 PM

in real life

King Gizzard 28-08-2012 11:24 PM

It's impossible to be more confident in real life surely

On the internet you can talk to people freely without the worry of them judging you on looks/personality

MTVN 28-08-2012 11:26 PM

Depends, sometimes I think it's harder to convey who you are or what you mean online, and also whatever you write on here or other sites can be seen by pretty much anyone so you don't have the same privacy in what you're saying as you would just amongst a few mates

This.

I'm really shy in real life.

GypsyGoth 29-08-2012 12:04 AM

I think I'm slightly autistic when it comes to social situations in real life.

So yea online I'm far more confident.

the truth 29-08-2012 12:24 AM

real life im far more confident as speaking to people face to face is far far more interesting and more fun...most internet discussions end up with everyone getting polarised and exaggerating their points to get heard. in life you can play with situations, be funny serious sincere crazy all at the same time

texting facebook twitter are the death to real conversation, which is tragic

armand.kay 29-08-2012 12:49 AM

I wasn't sure before so I picked internet but after thinking about it I changed my mind. On the interned I have way to much time to think about and often end up editing and cutting bits out sometimes I even discourage my self from posting comments.
In real life you don't have all that time to think you really only have 3 seconds to reply to someone (any longer and it would be weird and awkward) and by the time you have anodised what you just said its to late to edit or undo.

Princess 29-08-2012 12:52 AM

I think I'm pretty similar online as I am in real life with people I know. With people I don't know, definitely online.
