Pissheads on buses.

Urrgh!!! Why do bus drivers allow pissheads and smelly people to get on buses? There's a guy sat opposite me who is off his head, the alcohol fumes are eye watering- its only early afternoon Ffs. Then there's another guy sat two seats forward who stinks of garlic. Revolting. Bus tramps. :hmph:

When I'm rich I won't have to put up with these ruffians.

Get a car or taxi.

If you sit at the bottom deck you can usually avoid those types

The worse thing is when the bus driver is a piss head

Redway 29-08-2012 01:09 PM

I much prefer using public transport really. :/ Don't see the need for driving tbh.

I hate to disagree with somebody on such a light-hearted thread, but don't you think drink-driving rates would rocket if they weren't allowed on buses?
Also, sorry if you've ever met me haha, I'd imagine I'm one of the worst offenders.

Probably, but it's revolting to be sitting with your kid(s) having had to go to the back of the bus because it was pretty full and then have to endure that stench for 15 minutes, it was really bad. I wouldn't have said anything to him, but had there been alternative seats I would certainly have moved. There isn't a solution, cos as you say everyone is equally entitled to use public transport, but some sort of common sense rules could be in place, people pay (and it's not cheap) to use these services and should expect not to have to endure unpleasantness.

Here's an alternate scenario, would a person in such a state be allowed into a cinema? A restaurant? I think not, because the customers would complain.

Withano 29-08-2012 02:11 PM

If they're not sitting next to you on the bus, they'd be crashing into you on the bus. Nobodys life is in danger kicking a drunk person out a restaurant or cinema. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to disagree with you completely!
But maybe some alternative transport with a higher charge fee for drunk people could be introduced. Until then, encourage them to join you on the same bus.

:conf: NO. It should be the responsibility of the bus company to ensure that people who pay fares to travel on their vehicles can do so in comfort, which includes not having to smell booze drenched people btw. They are quick enough taking our money. Your argument about drunk driving is feasible enough yes, but it seems you are also saying that people should have to put with this, well I don't find it acceptable behaviour, so I disagree with you completely on that aspect of what you said.

Well, with all due respect, I don't think you're thinking it through too well.

All it would take is one death because a drunk driver was told he couldn't travel by bus before you realise that perhaps, sitting next to a stinking drunk guy isn't so bad after all in comparison to other possible consequences.
